Night Owl is in Afionas rather than Arillas. Very much liked by many forum members. try night owl in the search bar at top of page for posts about it.

Night Owl ?

Whatever I say about it could be a treated as a little biased.

Linda and Nickos have looked after us very well not only with our few visits last Summer but kept us sane and well fed during the Winter. More locals visit during the winter for the usual card games, deep and sometimes loud conversations where they all "put the world to right"

They have revamped the inside area now where the locals can hide away with the cards and the chat and not be bothered by any of us. But if you visit take the time to pop your head round the door and wish them a good evening. None of them bite!

Like all the Greeks we've met they have made us very welcome each time.

The outside is getting a lick of paint and is looking good.

The choice of food is limited compared to the assortment of dishes you will be offered in Arillas. The chicken is good as is the pork and most Saturdays Nickos will do a special of lamb. - Depending on his mood at the time. - And why not?
Chips, salad, Greek Sausage or Pork in a pitta wrap. Kalimari is good and I had saganaki the other day, for the first time, and loved it.
( I don't think he will put lambs head on the menu - This is only for the Winter )

However, this summer they aim to try and do a "pot" special each evening

So there you are.
And...... finally, providing they are not too busy, if you have walked there and need a lift back to Arillas? - She'll pop you in the car and deliver you home safe and sound.
But Lindypops knows that already!

Cheers
Negg

Negg - the "pot" special sounds really interesting. Local home cooking with authentic ingredients. Just my "cuppa tea."

Jen won't manage the walk, but we might get a cab this July. That's if we have time!

And saganaki is indeed lovely to eat. Jen and me love cooked cheese, and Anna has made me that for breakfast quite a few times now, and more when we get there next time! We also love sesame feta - sesame oil, feta and sesame seeds under the grill. Have eaten that at Thalassa more times than I can remember.

See you soon
Phil

Hi All

When I left Arillas today I was kinda hoping that Night Owl would be hosting their usual lunchtime opening for locals, and all sat around a table putting the world to rights. - As yer do.

But I got there too late and closed it was.

So I just clicked a couple of pics to show you all how it's re-vamp is progressing.

That pesky head cold, that Wegg and I have both had , has put has behind "schedule" this week. So it it our plan for Brouklis tonight and Night Owl Sunday.
( Will we be the first to eat outside, I wonder? )

Cheers
Negg

Tony

I reckon it's about 45 mins, it's up hill.
But don't forget if they're not over busy you can get a lift home.

We reckon the walk up the hill is enough to give you an appetite & the walk back down helps with the digestion & creates enough room to stop at the Bardis Appts, Creperie, Akti, Coconut & various other places for a night cap ;)
