here im no being funny dimitris but why do you keep deleting all our messeges?? all the young peoplez!! we have just as much of a rite to sign the guestbook as anyone else. you think we give a bad immpresion of arillas just because young people go as well?? well why try to pretend that arillas is just for older people because its not!! there was about 30 of us there this august and did we rek it? NO! so why act like we are a pure disgrace!! arillas is a really nice place for young people as well as old and we dont bring a bad name to it so stop pretending we dont exist!! im no happy like!! when i met you i thought you were sound but im obvioulsy wrong!! were no pure lepors!! LOL!!!!! we enjoy arillas just as much as anyone else.

Arillas, well what can we say, the whole two weeks was everytning that we wanted. Yes we would come back and bring the kids this time. Everyone really freindly, made to feel very welcome fabulous time and am not looking forward to work tomorrow.

Came to Arillas in July and had the best holiday ever!! We stayed for 2 weeks and were heartbroken to leave the beaches, tavernas and the fantastic locals! Can't wait to come back next year! Love this website - have been on every day since I got back and love looking at the webcam pictures (although find it very depressing when I'm sitting in a dull office with the rain hammering down outside!!)

Been back less than a month from our twelth trip to Arillas, and can't wait to get back. Already booked for next July for another three weeks! Anna's Studios. We stayed at Anna's Studios in September 2003, we recommended it so highly our friends went in May 2004 who said it was one of the best holidays they had ever had. My friend and I were both worked in Corfu as couriers so we know the island very well. Anna and Costas were great hosts and the appartments are clean and beautifully situated for the sunsets. We loved it so much we are going back in September 2004 with some more friends.

i would just like to reply to the comment that ROD LAW wrote about Anna and Anna studios. although you think you had a bad experience at this place i think that you must be mistaken by saying that Anna was rude, unfriendly and only interested if you was spending with them. we have been going to Anna studios for the last 3yrs and have not once heard anyone say a bad word against the people or the place. for those of you reading this comment DONT be put off by Rods comment as Anna has always been friendly and very welcoming she is anything but rude and unfriendly many more people would say the same!!!

We`ve been back 4 weeks,and can`t wait to be in Arillas again. We`ve stayed at several places, and it`s just lovely. Next year will be the 4th time there. If you go to Tria Adelphia, give them our best wishes. The food there is to die for. The Gianniotti family are so nice. I still have some weight to lose!! Also, over the road, Leonidas. Arrived back yesterday afternoon and booked to go again next August on the net whilst in Arillas, we love it that much. Sorry to Dimitri as we didn't get to eat with him this time round but will make up for it next time.Next visit will be in June and already can't wait.Love and best wishes to all the friends we have made. To Gillian and Peter Rhodes Although there isnt a gym in Arillas, I would suggest you talk to Hanna at The Coconut bar (Costa's girlfriend) as I believe she goes to one every day so cant be that far. To be honest though, I think you should just relax and realise that it is impossible to go to Arillas and LOSE weight!! the food is just far far too good! You have the rest of the year to do that!

soon will be back 3 weeks to go, made a friend from Dover 4 years ago. Every year we return and meet up. We would never become friends if it wasnt to costos at the gratzella intruducing us. We have just got back from Arillas last night and what a brilliant week it was. Jimmy and Spiros were once again so friendly and also entertaining. The barbeque night on Saturday was fantastic, this was rounded off with Greek dancing. We are hoping to go back for the 5th time to Arillas next June, probably to Dionysos 1 or 2.

Stayed in Arillas for 2 weeks. Lovely place. Avoid the Anna studios though. Anna was rude, unfriendly, and only interested in you if you were spending money with them. We rented a fan elsewhere, and Anna did not forgive us all holiday. Not the way to treat someone who has paid so much to go on holiday. I'd return to Arillas, but never to the Anna studios. Try the Marinaki, left as you reach the beach.

visited arilas 6 times back there next month. i have made lots of friends and cant wait to see them again. the scenery and the sunsets are out of this world. this was the first place i ever went to abroad. i am pleased i found it. my husband and i are intending to live there in the future.

returned from arillas yesterday and had an excellent week. The best relaxing holiday i've ever had even though i went parasailin on the front (what a view), watched a magic show (how do they do those tricks), did some greek dancing!!(in rainbows) and discovered "whispers"(hi yanis!) i havn't drank till 9.30 in the morning for years!! would reccomend it to anyone xxx

We returned from Arillas on Sat and had a great time. I wish i was out there now, i really recommend this place to anyone who wants a relaxing holiday but with a bit of nightlife too! The people of Arillas are very friendly and helpful and the food is even better. (It is horrible being back home)!!!

Hi everyone! Me again! We recently returned fron our gorgeous haven that is Arillas and, once again, came away feeling totally depressed! The weather was fab and the locals lovely as usual. We had some beautiful meals at The Brouklis(Hi Dimitri!). My hubby reckons the mousaka was by far the best in the resort, I thought the lamb chops were simply DEVINE!! I konw thats not very adventurous but just see for yourself! New additions this year are the new 'Marina' pool and bar on the front. Being the only beach lover in our family of 5, it suited us all, as it was only a few steps away and the rest of the family could sit back and enjoy the sea/watersports without getting any sand between their toes! Also, for the more adventurous among u, at the very end of the beach, which is nudist (Although it isnt compulsory as there was always plenty of 'clothed' bathers!), there was a, wait for it, massage tent!! How idillic is THAT?! Only problem is, the man who does it is an absolute greek adonis so I couldnt trust myself to be good so resisted for the entire fortnight!! How sad am I!? Anyway, as usual we had many a sozzled night at perry and Costa's at the Coconut and came home completely refreshed.(Well, as refreshed as you can be with 3 kids!). We'll deffo be back nexy year, fubds permitting, so Il bid you all bye-bye till then!! Joanne xx

I'm so sad to have left Corfu! I had such a great time with my friend! We are now so depressed and are DEFINITELY coming back next year! We went parasailing, which was just totally amazing, and I also have bruises everywhere from the donuts, where we were all thrown out at least twice. It was so much fun! Arillas and the whole area is so breathtakingly beautiful and everyone is so friendly, sometimes too friendly (Fahim). Stepping off the plane at Stansted to grey skies almost made me cry! OH my god! im so depressed! i got back from arilas earlier today and had the best time ever!i enjoyed everthing about it and found the locals very freindly and welcoming! the weather was lovely nd the beach as beutiful! enjoyed the malibu,cocnut and whispers too. went paragliding which was fatastic and on the rubberring thing was was great fun! i miss it so much alreay i want to be back now! me and my freind are already looking into next years visit! wat a brilliant holiday!

I recently returned from the best holiday ever in Arillas. we stayed at the AKTI hotel and the family who ran it was so warm and welcoming.we eatent every night at the Hotel Marina and the food was , well what can i say 10/10, if there was somthing you wanted and it wasnt on the menu they do it for you. the marina hotel had greek nights every saterday night and they was truly brill, but if you go expect to get up and dance! i was there when greece won the football cup and the atmosphere in the coconut bar was amazing. the beach was clean and the sea was crystal clear. i/we loved our time there that much that we`re returning this year as we really cant wait untill next year! well a huge hello to every one in arillas specially to George Buci at Hotel Marina! luv n kisses see you in september arillas! luv Claire xxxxxxxxxx

got back from arillas on monday the 26 aug, we have been depressed since. Me and my hubby had a great time, just want to be back there. The place is beautifull, the people are so friendly. It was perfect. we stayed at anna studios and i would like to say what a lovely lady she is, as well as her family, the accomadation was well presented,clean,and i would recommened it to any one. we ate at brouklis tavern, dimitris,nearlly every night the food is fantastic, dimitri, and his staff, are sooo friendly, the service is excellent. So any one going i would recommened you eat there. another good place i have to recommened for a drink is the cocconut bar, the two brothers, peirre, and kosstos, there brilliant.You will have a good night if you go there. In all arillas is fantastic, we will be back next year.

I have just got back from Arillas and I stayed at the Kaloudis Apartments which were excellent, they were very clean and the owners were the nicest people you could wish to meet. I have been to Corfu many times but Arillas is one of the nicest places I have been too. Everyone was so friendly and I will be returning again next year. Just like to say thank you to the Thompson rep Andrea who was excellent.

We've also just returned from our first week in Arillas and had a very favourable impression. Just one cloudy day - though the compensation was a terrific thunder storm later on! - and a couple of days of very high winds (though still hot). I'm sure August will be as hot and, Jackie and Phil, all you need to do is keep your eyes on the weather bit of the arillas.com website before you go! Like in any hot country, the mosquitos can be a bit of a problem - make sure you either take some repellent or buy one of the plug-in things you can buy in the supermarkets. Better still, get hold of some nets. As regards the litter, well, we didn't stay at the Bardis so we can't comment but it didn't seem to be a problem elsewhere in the resort. Also, the only grafitti we saw was written in, er, English and, with the resort being dominated by English people, if there is a problem of litter, it's our problem, not that of the good people of Arillas. Litter bins are provided. Ammas on the sea front does exellent Greek salads and baguettes, while try and find the Vavilas restaurant if you like fish (follow the beach road to the left, turning sharp left at the end, and then just keep on going on a winding walk past the hotels; it's about 5 minutes further up (on the way to the interesting and informative Heritage Walk). We were the only guests that night but the chef (specially telephoned) still turned out to cook our meal!). Finally, special thanks to Dmitris at the Brouklis for his excellent, friendly - and sustained - hospitality right into the final evening of our stay. We have just returned from Arillas and my wife and I were totally enthralled by our experience. We have been to many Greek islands and know what to expect, as far as the Greek way of life is concerned. The people are so occomodating and friendly, the Tavernas serve a wonderful variety of delicious dishes and the sandy beach slopes nicely into the sea making it very safe for all. There are some nice walks, and it was pleasant to see such a green island, populated by a large variety of wildlife. It was very hard to choose which Taverna to visit at nights, but the Brouklis Taverna and the Thalassa Restaurant were visited on more than one occasion. I know a few phrases in Greek and it was much appreciated by the locals, that an effort had been made to speak the local language, even if very poorly. We will certainly going back next year. Just a last thing to add about the Bardis Studios, they were certainly very small, but had a wonderful view of the sea and the sunset. The rooms admittedly were not cleaned as we would like. But, Spiros and Poppy and all were wonderful hosts, they couldn't do enough for you. The pool, I found was always very clean and the gardens were also very pleasant. Also I stayed at the same time as other guests, whom have commented recently and I didn't notice any bad smells!

I am absolutely amazed and astounded at the comments from SiobHan O'Hagan especially coming from Ireland. The only people more friendly and laid back than the Greeks are the Irish. But I guess there are exceptions. Our first visit to Arillas was last September and two days into our holiday it rained and boy did it rain, for almost two weeks. However, the people were so welcoming and friendly that this year we are visiting twice! Our thanks to Kostas on the Beach, very helpful and friendly waiter Babis, Anna and Kostas (Arillas Car Hire, Jimmy and Spiros at Rainbow. Kostas & Afroditi Mouzitikas, Dimitris and the crowd at Brouklis, Stavros at Marina and many, many more. If you are prepared to be flexible the people of Arillas are the most friendly and helpful in the world. The place is beautiful and peaceful and we felt at home immediately. The only thing that has changed in Arillas since last year is the completion of the new pool on the sea front.Not sure whether it is a change for the better.When we were there in May it didn't seem to make a difference,there was certainly no litter strewn all over the place.The people of Arillas take pride in their village and make everyone welcome wether you spend money or not.The Bardis Sun{we stay in the Hotel,is small,clean and very friendly.Poppy,Spiros,Bobby and George couldn't be more helpful.They know all of their guests by name and most of the ones next door.Will agree give Costas on the beach a look,food is excellent and if you are lucky Strewby will let you tickle behind his ears.Anyone goung to Arillas will enjoy it, even teenagers put there allocation on arrival.

Simply felt that I had to add to the 'Bardis Sun' comment below. Isn't it funny how you feel compelled to defend Arillas when anyone DARES to say anything bad about this beautiful resort! Firstly, unless things have DRASTICALLY changed since last year I really do not know how anyone could possibly say that Arillas is litter strewn and smelly! As the last person said, the showers in Greece will never be what we deem, in England, as 'showers' but surely that is the whole appeal of coming to a semi-rural place like Arillas. Dont get me wrong, as a mother of three young boys, I certainly would not keep coming back to somewhere if it was that bad and bad it certainly isnt! Infact, I never thought we would ever return to the same place twice, never mind 7 years running like we have! Beacause we have been so often I feel that I am better informed to tell any Arillas 'virgins' that this resort is an absolute paradise. From the stunning sunsets to the fantastic locals, from the delicious food to the gorgeous beach, you will think you have died and gone to heaven!! In our seven years we have stayed at The Kaloudis (twice), Marina hotel, Charises, The Bakery, Tria Adelphia and we are about to go to villa 'Irene'. For anyone booking at the Bardis Sun, we have stayed at the pool a couple of times and it seemed lovely so please dont be put off. At the end of the day, if it really is that bad, there are plenty of other pools nearby that will welcome you. If you are looking for a Majorca/Tenerife/Sidari experience then, yes, you will probably feel short-changed but Arillas is certainly no ghost town, just a beautiful, chilled-out sophisticated village which can offer you memories that will keep you going all winter long! Check out 'Kostas on the Beach' for an extra special dining experience. On booking a table for our anniversary, we were greeted by a rose petal-strewn table and a home-baked cake in our honour! Also, my husband Mick is just as football mad as any other brit abroad and always watches the games with Perry and Costa at the Coconut Bar, while I samplw a cocktail or three! With regards to the message about the Bardis Sun and Arillas in general.I would like to put people straight who haven't been there before and might be put off by the comments.Everyone in the village is extremely friendly and welcoming.The place itself is stunningly beautiful and well cared for. As for the shower,show me a shower in Corfu where the water doesn't go everywhere. We return year after year and will continue to do so. If you want five star luxury go to a five star hotel!!

Just back from Arillas, Corfu, stayed at Bardis Sun Studio. I thought it was disgusting. There is so much litter laying around arillas and corfu, you would think they didn't care about the tourist. Also there is a bad smell in certain places, it smells of sewage. As for Bardis Sun studio, it was suppose to be quiet and relaxing, but the bar played really loud music till 1.00 am every morning. It was not very nice, the beds were uncomfortable and the sheets had been there since the dawn of time. The worst thing was the shower, the water went every where and even flooded out onto the corridor. There were mops along the corriders, supposedly for us to dry it up after. However the mops were sitting in disgusting water that had never been changed, which meant you were drying your floor with those dirty, germ ridden things. I didn't find the staff friendly, they were at the start, but I think when they realised we weren't spending money in their bar, it was a different story. Every day the pool was cleaned, but even after that insects and even bird droppings were in it. Don't go here, its cheap and dirty. I wish I had of spent the extra and went somewhere else!!!

We have just returned from a week at the Horizon Hotel, it was excellent. It is very central , just 10 metres across a small road andd you are on the beach. The rooms are lovely and have a small kitchenette and excellent air conditioning. It is family run and everyone is so nice and helpful. It has a lovely bar area and Libra brochure does not do it justice it is much nicer than it looks. We have travelled extensively but would highly recommend it . If you like walking it's a lovely area.

Well arrived back in england this mornin at 4.30am and was gutted this morning to not be able to open my apartment door on to the wonderful place that is arillas. We had a fantastic two weeks just relaxing, sunbathing and lazing around (oh and a few drunken nights in malibu's getting tipsy on cocktails!!)We stayed in the Leonidas apartments which were lovely to come back to at the end of the night. I found arillas to be perfect for a relaxing holiday with enough to places to eat and drink to keep us happy. To anyone going for the first time don't worry you'll love it, it's quite "rural" i.e. not over commercialised and touristy, you are welcomed in the the everyday life of the greek locals and will get the best reception from any foreign country i have ever been to. I'd just like to say thanks to everyone at leonidas, tria adelphia, malibu's (especially the Polish waitress who's name we never learn't, thanks for looking after us!) and mirage, your all great! What more could you ask for apart from shorter transfer times from the airport. By pass Sidari and go straight to Arillas. Don't spoil the village by going too large.

hi to all the well manered people of arillas . just arrived back through a busy outgoing day thru kekrya . found ourselves a bit overwhelmed by the pace of life in arillas in comparison to the journey back to reality/civilisation . would like to thank dimitri for your words of wisdom, hospitality and for the beers in the coconut bar . would also like to thank perry , costas (the part time dj) ! and of course the gentle anna for organising the fantastic cake on our last night . met loads of friends out there including "as you do" rob, philip and helena who kept things relaxed at the adelphia . arillas to us was like a huge garden full of rampant frogs freindly locals and all of what you wouldnt expect from a typical day in the uk . no wonder people return here year after year keep arillas quaint and far from commercialism . its happened to other places in corfu and it would be a pity if arillas went down the same windy road . big hi to jen the cabaret and the lincoln hoodlums . happy days . paul jenny and bump

Been back a week after 2 weeks in San Stefanos.Visited Arillas a couple of times and will definitely spend time there in the next couple of years,looking at property and land in the area.The friendliness of the Greek people never fails to amaze me.My regards to all at the Brouklis,only had 1 meal there,but the lamb was excellent.Say hello to Stfanos & Dimitris at the Paradise in San Sefanos,great lads and dear friends,and to the lad at the Olimpia in San Stefanos,a real gentleman.Any feed back on websites that have property and land in Arillas and San Stfanos would be welcomed. Love your photo's. I believe we have some very similar. It's not hard to take a great pic of the sunset from Arillas. It's a magical place at that time of day. It always make me wonder why so many people favour the east coast so much.It gets darker earlier, there is nothing special about the sunrise and you have to drive to town to shop for anything major. I have heard it said that the nth west is more untidy but I would call it "rural". Life goes on in a more traditional way. I don't know how many times you would see a donkey being ridden on the east coast. It won't be that long before they disappear altogether. Keep up the good work, the site is lovely. My only comment is tha I nearly missed the green writing below, it's not the best colour for information. Anne

Got back from Arillas on Friday and we had a great time. Stayed at Kaloudis Village Apartments which were brilliant. Met Dimitri at the Brouklis and had a fabulous meal. Arillas really ias a hidden gem and we most certainly will be going back hopefully this year. The meals at The Marina Hotel were great too.

Just returned from a great week in Arillas with a reasonable tan despite the, sometimes, chilly weather. Brouklis food and hospitality excellent as ever - thanks to Dimitris and his family. In reply to James,I think either places would be good. I have seen the inside of the Horizon, and it is beautiful. I gather from comments on the forum that Annas is very good too. Iam sure that wherever you choose, James< you will feel very welcome and will have a great time. Don't worry about it being too noisy cos it won't be.

Arillas is great - I was there in August last year and loved it and can't wait to go back this year. Corfu also has a great new web-site and radio station which i've been listening to for the last couple of weeks - radiocorfu.com - it's got loads of info about whats happening there now and plays great music (including some greek music, which always brings back some great memories). I can't wait for August!

In response to Kaye's message, Arillas is heaven on earth but there are some silly individuals who have been leaving messages on the notice board that would give people the wrong impression of the village. We are also going on the 21st May, we have been going twice a year for some time now and wouldn't dream of going any where else. There are 3 main bars, we prefer the Coconut Bar as you are always made welcome and treated like friends by Kostas, Perry and Hannah. You'll love the place, it's so relaxing with plenty of great walks, not vey exciting though if you like to party. Might see you there.

We have the choice of staying at ANNA studios or Horizon studios, has anyone any guidance. We are not young and wild and like peace and quiet at nighttime. We are just looking to revisit an area we came to about 25 years ago. Has anyone used either??

we are thinking about coming to arillas on 21.05.04 and staying in the kaloudis studios,so just wondered if somebody could tell us abit about the studios and what there is to do on nite,as what ive read so far is mainly about young girls trying to contact lads they've had holiday flings with rather than how nice arillas is.
