Greek Crisis and Arillas-Corfu

Arillas BusyWe would like to reassure you that in Arillas-Corfu,  life goes on as usual,
At the moment Arillas is full with our regular customers and many newcomers, everyone is enjoying themselves as usual. The fact that people bring extra cash with them, sterling being much stronger these days and the pure hospitality of the Arillas people leaves everyone feeling that the Greek economy is much better than in the UK or other European countries

The truth is that the whole economy of our country is in big trouble, Greece has a lefty government that European leaders do not like at all ! No one knows what decisions will be taken and what impact they will have on the locals or tourists.
However, Greece is still the safest country to travel with friends and family.
In Arillas we are not really dependant on the trends of the global markets, we are quite self-sufficient and we have many returning visitors.
Greeks were never fond of accepting credit cards, as they have always preferred cash, because they also have to pay cash for their local supplies. The Greek economic crisis has not made this any better.
In our Taverna WE ACCEPT most cards like VISA MASTERCARD  AM.EX, MAESTRO etc
Foreign credit card holders (tourists) can withdraw from the ATMs their maximum daily limit set by their banks. (Greek card holders can currently withdraw only the amount of 60€ per day.)
The banks are still closed but all online bank transactions are being processed as usual. (Only within Greek bank accounts).
In the village all the travel offices will still change all foreign currencies, Sterling etc etc.
Arillas has a capacity of  800 to 1000 beds , Every day we serve over 60-70 people in our taverna which is one of the most popular in the area, NO ONE has reported any problems concerning the financial crisis during their holiday.
