Is it just me or does May seem to be extraordinarily busier than past years? There was a time when all the Arillas establishments rarely opened until the last weekend and visitors were few and far between but relished by us that stlll had a few weeks to wait! Absolutely loving hearing snippets from these lucky people x

Yes Jo you are right.....we returned on Saturday morning after spending two weeks at the Mathraki, first week was a bit quiet but the second week was just like the end of June.
Although the restaurants seem to be busier early in the evenings (probably all the oldies going to bed early) but not us, we kept to our normal late nights at the Mathraki...and so did everyone else, the oldest guest was eighty two and she was always last to go to bed😃 "thank you Rosemary for those wonderful evenings".

One or two of the restaurants were closed until our second week but all of the others had plenty of customers. Brouklis and many others were busy every night.
We went to the bakery one morning for a late breakfast about 11am and they had very little choice because they had sold out !!! That never happened in July.

Efi's only opened as we left so that will be first on our list when we return in three weeks time.

Ger, so sorry we never met...but didn't we all have a fantastic holiday. We had never been in early May before having always come later, but think we will do the same next year as everything was so perfect.

We were amazed to see Arillas so busy but could always get a table in our favourite restaurants, it was a pity Efi's opened so late, we really missed the family .

Walking back up to the Mathraki each night was wonderful. We had never seen so many fireflies in all the the years we have visited Arillas we stood gazing at them for ages.

Well.... we next return 15th June with Bills sister and brother-in-law for two weeks  so we can do it all again, then I hope to persuade Bill that we need a late summer visit. Think that will see me through the rest of the year 😉

Hope to meet you soon.... Val x
