Akrogiali seafood restaurant Agios Georgious
« on: August 25, 2017, 03:29:44 PM »
I know this is a forum about Arillas but I just wanted to mention this taverna over in Agios Georgios.  We went here for lunch on our 30th wedding anniversary and it is in a stunning location. It is really difficult to find. You have to go along the seafront at Agios Georgios as far as you can go and then turn left up the hill and then turn right at the top of the hill and back down onto the sea front again. You will then see a little track road that is right on the edge of the sea and you go along that as far as you can go. My husband was a bit worried about our hire car as the road is bumpy and narrow but it was worth it. (By the way did  you know you can insure your excess on hire cars - anyway that is a topic for a different thread).

The taverna is right on the edge of the sea and the garlic prawns which we had were the best ones I have ever had. I wish my photo bucket was working and I would put some photos on. Will have to try and sort that out. Please if you do have transport try and find this taverna - absoloutely stunning.  Link  for their website below:

Fully agree Sonia

We didn't try the car route but went by boat - We hire a boat every year and a few Years ago when Gary was still running the charter he recommended a trip across the bay and eating here - As we approached we were greeted and helped to moor up - Sounds as though it may have been an easier trip than by car?

As Sonia says a stunning location & as always great hosts & food.
