I thought so, I think we went once..  it must have been some time ago, so wasnt sure if it was actually in Arillas. We felt like a change, and it wasn't a memorable meal as I remember so not surprised it didn't last longer than a year.

Good to hear from you BG!!!

It was 2003 season that the Chinese Restaurant came and went.  We agree with your review and only used it once.

Best wishes
Phil

Our first year was 2005 and I was sure that I remembered it then. Did it definately only last one season ?

Just realised it was 2006 not 2005.

Hi Jersey Bean. I know it was open in 2003 because we were there with some friends who didn't come to Arillas again. I'm relying on what I've heard about only one season, because Jen and my next visit was in 2007 when it certainly had closed. Would be intrigued to know what the truth is about it.

Best wishes
Phil

Hope that someone will confirm as I am sure it was there a few doors down from the Malibu Bar but maybe I'm totally wrong.

Just did a search on the forum. Sorry I don't know how to provide the link from my IPad but there is a post called Arillas first and last and on Oct 02nd 2006 Blondegirl posted about the new Chinese in Arillas. This ties in with what I remember as that was our first year.

I can't remember the exact years it was open, but all the above posts have an approximation.  It was called The Wok House and was, in our opinion the best Chinese food we've ever had.  It was open at least two years and we were so sad to find it gone on our next visit.  Sadly, it appears it didn't do too well.  It did belong to Ina and her family and yes, it is still Ina's shop, I think.  I'll never forget that one night Arillas had one of its torrential downpours resulting in all power lost when we were there having a meal.  In true Arillas fashion everything kept going, candles came out and, probably, camping gas came into use but we still had a terrific meal, even thought the roof was leaking like a sieve.  Oh, such happy memories!
