I think the Arillas Corner in the Coconut died a death a few years ago when it was rumoured by people "unknown" that it was becoming a bit of a clique, which it definitely wasn't......it was just friends  gathering to chat about their day and having a drink, everyone one was welcome and it was always in the outside corner seats  and mostly us females😃 with the men propping up the bar. Perhaps it could be revived.....but we would have to pretend that we weren't enjoying it too much. 😉

Sounds familiar Val. I think it would be great for it to start up again. It doesn't have to be every day but maybe once or twice a week?

Just do it people! Eat, drink & be merry 😀

Surely everyone is entitled to enjoy their holidays the way the find enjoyable.

Live and let live people and life is so very too short to worry about alleged ‘cliques’ 😉
Life is good ;)

I dont understand why people would complain about people meeting up on holiday for a drink and a chat! Sounds petty to me. Everyone should be entitled to do what they want to do and with who they want to be with holiday. I say go for it and maybe if I am passing and see you all will join in!

Is it not due to the difficulty to make appointments when on holiday?? - As Ness44 says "If passing , will pop in"
Perhaps the Quiz afternoons and evenings are a very good alternative to meet up. Even if you don't feel "quizzie" you get to meet up with , at least someone, who you want to put a face to a forum name.

May be worth setting up as it suits some people but not really for me.... much prefer the chance meetings ☺ .  Met 5 or 6 people off the forum now and none were arranged. I even met Erja's towel this year as it was watching me jogging 😂 .

I'm the same as you karl but I also have absolutely no problem with people wanting to meet up with each other. Everyone is entitled to do what they want to on their holiday. We've been in the coconut bar when groups of people have been chatting together and have never been made to feel uncomfortable or that it was a bit clique. In fact quite the opposite and that includes the staff....very friendly and welcoming!
