We saw a couple on our first day, but never saw any after that.

Compared to mosquitoes , jelly fish are "pussy cats" - They will still go for your ankles though, so, to confuse them , I suggest running on the spot when paddling.

There were a lot of jelly fish there in May, a few people got stung. One guy had quite a bad welt on his back. If you see them, stay away, that is all!

They tend to be more prolific early season, before the sea warms up too much.
I doubt you'll see many (if any) for the rest of the summer.

The worst case I've seen was a few years ago in Malta in March. There was literally a 'carpet' of them all along the waters edge on the beach, about six feet deep. You couldn't get into the water without stepping on them. We didn't bother, lol.

Been in the sea every day since last Friday & no sign of any jellyfish. Sea seems warmer this Year too but conditions are different every day. Very windy & rough Yesterday - OK for me & exhilarating in the waves but too strong for Jill. Woke up this morning to a very chilly & overcast Arillas.

I wish I could swim like that , fair play !  I can get by and could probably do a mile at a push (if I ever had to) but it would take along time and it wouldn't be pretty !  Its my technique as I can run and cycle all day no problem.  Did a mini triathlon a few months ago in 1 hour 18 but my swim lets me down, 14.5 mins for 16 lengths.
I have hijacked another thread here , two in a day .....

Spiro at Bardis swam 6.5 hrs  at one time whilst we were there three weeks ago, he swims down round to st George north looking for octopus.... without snorkel gear.. when he needs a rest he floats on top and falls asleep.... I’d never heard of that. He’s been doing it for years, Poppy worries about him tho.
