Greek Food - use of coriander?
« on: July 19, 2019, 04:11:22 PM »
I've been watching some old (1970's) cookery programs recently and a couple of them were about Greek cooking ( - one was Keith Floyd but I can't remember the other).
Thing is, BOTH of them talked about the prolific use of CORIANDER in Greek cooking, whilst not mentioning oregano. I've eaten a lot Greek food in my time, and have never associated it with coriander. Do you think it was mis-identification at the time, of the herb used, or has oregano simply become the more popular choice?

Interesting! Or it could be a regional variation possibly. I have had coriander in few things but not a lot ever.
Life is good ;)
