I have a feeling that we will have less to spend this year and this will be bad for the Arillas businesses as well. We cant do much about it except be happy that we are spending in a place we love.

Very worrying stuff this and as soon as we can we'll get to the Bank and check the exchange. We all know it tends to go up around April/May time but if it's this low now we could only be looking at 1.4 tourist about that time.

I'm not sure that's right Eggy. I'm sure I've always found the exchange rate is better at this time of year...in fact I used to change money in January for the summer....because it gets worse as the season goes on.

Hi Sandy
I'll keep an eye on it but we never used to transfer money over around Jan / Feb because of the poor Bank rate.  End March / April used to be good, I think and in June last year we got a better exchange on the cashpoint in Arillas than money we transferred over around April. ( Maybe Bank rate is more variable than Tourist Rate ? )

Let me know when it's on the way up please.
Cheers

Of course we will. Hope you and Wegg are still ok today and not suffering any after effects from your adventure.

We too thought rates dropped as the season opened but never worried as we always got a better rate at the marina, last year we also tested the a.t.m. and were pleased with the rate. Just ot to swallow hard, save and hope the banks grow some extremities!

This exchange rate is a small crippler at the mo.

Just doing the sums, e1000 per month in June cost us £669 and now it costs £740.
Not a major problem here as we take money from our Greek account which we transferred over at a very good rate but at some point we need to move some more.
( Born worrier - That's me !! )
Keep yer eye on it for us Sandy and all.

Hi Eggy.
The Euro rate seems to be getting worse everyday.

I agree Eggy....very worrying for us all and also the good people of Arillas as we will effectively have "less" to spend there with the exchange rate being so poor.

Just over 125 today! Apparentlely could go lower! If they keep putting up our bills will not be able to save alot this year so hurting all round.
