Like Paul/Deb5 i too am all for extra security, in todays world god knows we need it, but quite frankly the items (cases and hand luggage) on the belt of the new scanner at Corfu airport passed through so quickly that there wasn't a cat in hells chance of the operator being able to do anything like a satisfactory security check!!!!

Hi i did put my last post on as someone speaking with experience, and believe me at that speed it would certianly have to be an item of considerable size for it to ring any alarm bells!!! but unfortunatly these days a large size (of anything) doesn't always prove to be the biggest danger.

On our way home from Corfu this year we sat in the cafe at Corfu airport watching peoples cases going through the security checks and the armed guards werent even looking at the screen. As my husband walked through the alarmed arch-way the alarm went off,he then just pulled his tobaco tin out of his pocket and was allowed to walk through. As far as the luggage is concerned our cases where weighed in Manchester and Corfu but none of our hand luggage was weighed. It seems to differ each time we fly.
