A must is to go the Portofino and try the stuffed squid. Absolutely delicious! The Gigantes and meatballs at the Horizon are divine as well. The spit roast lamb & stuffed pork from Brouklis. yum yum!!

Was that squid whole, I have a feeling it must have been to be stuffed...  The last time I had that was on Crete, in a lovely restaurant where you could dangle your feel over the harbour wall...  I asked for grilled squid and it came back whole...  it was just too much for me! It was still a bit inky... needless to say I couldnt eat it so I gave it to the cat who was sitting on my feet.  There are not many things I cant eat but that would be on the top of the list... I do eat calimari though as thats sliced and fried very nicely!

Sorry to be a bit thick here bg, but was you dangling your feet at the time you had the cat sitting on them?!?  Calamari, I agree, can be nice. I used to cook it with peppers, yum.

Have you never seen a cat with armbands?  :)

I was eating after I was dangling my feet,  the cat was drying them off!

Yes Marika the holidays are never long enough to do everything you want to do, are they? Its funny how we all say I going to relax and then run around trying to fit everything in and eat all these meals every where. See you in Brouklis in September. Love Viv

You have so right Viv!!
10 days are not enough!
But in September/October I have 3 weeks!
So, no problem, time enough :-)
I hope! HaHaHa :-)
If I remember the last years, hmmm, we will see :-)
See you in Brouklis in September!
When you come in September, I cannot found the post, where we write it down!
I remember sometime round the 15.September, right?
Love Marika

Almost every meal we had in Arillas was great...  We ate mainly at Brouklis (Hi Dimitris!), Thalassa, Kostas on the Beach - in that order.  Many people recommended Portofino but we didn't try it.
Loved the Keftades at both Brouklis and Thalassa (although both totally different)
Chicken Souvlaki at Brouklis great, not as good at Kostas but OK
Bread and wine at Kostas brill, other food good, ambience great
Stuffed port roll at Brouklis absolutely yummy, enjoyed spit roast lamb and chicken there as well
All main courses spot on at Thalassa, although more expensive
Also - try Mon Amour in Kavadades - booked our (free) minibus transfer at shop at Kaloudis Stuidos

Glad you enjoyed Mon Amour Janis, a whole gang of us went there one night and it was lovely and also very cheap!

We were also meant to go to the Portofino but never got round to it which was a shame, still theres always next time!

Hi Smiffy - I'd remembered one of your messages saying you'd booked for Mon Amour so when we found we could book at Kaloudis we did. Thanks for the suggestion! The problem is now I'm thinking about Arillas again and wishing we were back there!
Ah well - will book again for sure!
