As a previous post mentioned it should dissapear when all the olives have been pressed .....but Maybe if we had the`  E mail `address of the Local Mayor and bombard him with complaints they may take some action

Bit of a late posting here but I'm back on line so bear with me.
I confess that the smell was me. - Our house was without water for 5 days. Whenever we went to Brouklis Dimitris gave us a special table-in the garden opposite.
But..., & take it from someone in the know, it was an "Olive Problem" There's been a glut this year. We should know as our house is quite near an Olive Oil factory. When the wind changes then whoa!!! - Having lived in the country though, when you get used to "Cowpat Corner" then this is a pussycat.
Full marks to all business owners in Arillas for getting together and putting pressure on the council. Just a little extra snippet here. Over the last couple of weeks just a few people came to me and asked "Why hasn't Dimitris sorted it out?" I think that nearly all of us remember that he is only the Administrator of the website and a very sucessfull Taverna owner. He's not on the council and he's not the Mayor.
Cheers to all
Neill

Poor Dimitris, as if he hasnt got enough to do.  Now he's expected to be the River Inspector too, its probably as he was so successful with the ATM!

Ah so now I know the post I missed! Yes Dimitris is a business man but hey what a mayor!  But who would run the site?  He is our friend and tries so had for us all, he is or will be a family man let him have a life, let him take the road HE chooses, and wish them both well. Here is to the future.

I take it the aroma from the river has ceased?

If not, could it be sorted before the start of September 2007 Pretty Please ???   ;-)

The smell from the river was gone in June. Personally I don't think it's that bad, It's only olives after all.

Thank you Maggie.

We like Olives. But like any food, if left to rot, especially in a hot country PHEW!!   :-(
