Take it from me - I can detect no smell from, what was "The River". Not a sniff of it since they sorted the problem about 8/9 weeks ago. I go past it 3/4 times a week.

Thanks Eggy.
One less thing for us to worry about.   :-)

I'll enjoy the short walk in the mornings to the bakery, for our breakfast bread.

Perhaps the Supermarket near it, will also provide something for our breakfast.
Tomato, cucumber, eggs, honey, salami cheese.

Don't have heart attack food since I left the army.  That caused me to visit the Cardiac Unit for treatment a few years back.

My wife laughs when I set off the metal detectors at the airports.  ;-)

The bakers do wonderful rolls, croissants, bread and cakes too for afternoon tea :)

The supermarket next door are very good and sell most things..  their bottled Mythos and another Greek beer is supposed to be cheaper too according to Mike.  they charge you a deposit for the bottles but you get it back when you take the bottles back.  I think the bottles were under a euro there but 3 in the restaurants, someone might be able to correct me there though.

I hate to say this but when I was there last week the river still smelt. Not as bad as in May but enough to stop me eating in the Mirage.

Alyvin
Strange. Is there part of the river behind Mirage I wonder?
I was at Ina's this afternoon to buy some cigarettes and also walked over the bridge to take a look at the Mirage board to see if a decent film was on. (Sad I know!)
Certainly couldn't smell anything either in Ina's, around the bridge of outside Mirage.

No, the smell was definitely from the river as I was with my 2 neices and they were holding their noses. Maye you've developed immunity to the smell due to repeated exposure!

Dont dis-beleive what your saying Alyvin. I have got a good sense of smell, probably one of the few faculties left I could leave to science. I'm back in Aillas tomorrow so will let you know.
Cheers

Was in Arillas this afternoon. - About 3.30 pm - Quite hot.  I stood by the bridge.
River not a problem now.
I bumped into 2 forum members who have been here a week and walk past every day to the beach. No complaints.
Hopefully it's all rectified now. If it returns I'm sure we'll all hear about it.
( As soon as Mirage shows the new Bruce Willis film-Die Hard "something" - I'll be in there - Any further whiffs - You'll know about it )

Maybe there are a few places of the 'River' where the offending substance has stuck? This would cause varying reports as to the existence or non-existence of the 'aroma'.

Our 'Man On The Case' Eggy will get a reward (even if just a drink) for his reporting.  :-)

blondegirl, I assume the info re bakery and supermarket were for me?
Most appreciated.  :-)
