We were on an XL flight last October that was delayed overnight due to a technical problem. We were on the 'plane all set to go when the pilot announced a problem. A part and engineer had to be flown over from Athens so we were all sent to the Corfu Holiday Palace Hotel for the night, with dinner, breakfast and lunch provided. We had booked flight only tickets.
