Mirage.
« on: August 03, 2007, 11:13:49 AM »
We're off to the Mirage again this year and this time we're bringing 2 Arillas virgin's !
There are 3 of us (wife & son) but our 2 friend's couldnt get into the Mirage as apparently there has to be 3 to an apartment. Anyway got them into the Akti round the corner so not too far away !
Booked to fly from Leed's /Bradford like last year but a couple of week's later got a letter saying change of airport to E/Midland's.
Bit of a bugger but as long as we get there who care's !
Can't wait !!!
Hope I don't burn !

From what I've read on here, the Mirage apartments are lovely!  Am sure the 'virgins' will love it, most people seem to.  When do you go?  We go on Monday for two weeks - just can't wait now!!

Barry
You could be an ambassador here and, tactfully explain, that they cannot advertise free sunbeds, jacuzzi and pool and then get upset if no-one buys a drink.
Or........ You could just chill out, accept the fact they assume you will  have a drink regardless  and have a good holiday.
They are very proud of the rooms there. George @ Malibu is very bullish about them.

We are off to the Mirage on the 24th of Aug.
Last year we were the ground floor but dunno if we are up or down this time.
Lovely apartment's.
I think it's only fair if you use the pool and facilities that you buy a few drink's and a snack.
Nicos and Angela turned out to be the perfect host's last year after we'd read a few adverse comment's on here.
Each to their own I suppose.
Could't find a thing to complain about and it was one of our best hol's ever !
Was sad to see how Sidari has turned out as we passed through.
We were there a few year's ago and it was great but we hardly recognised the place this time and were glad we weren't staying there.
Theme pub's and burger bar's !!
Aaaagghh ! We go away to get away from that stuff.
Is it just me or am I turning into an Arillas snob ?!
Hope I don't burn !

No you are not a snob - well at least I hope you're not cos I'm just the same!!  Would rather stay at home than stay anywhere like that - not a proper holiday to me!!

I don't think disliking Sidari makes us snobs...we just know what we like - or more importantly, what we don't like in a holiday!

Barry
You're only an "Arillas Snob" if you're caught drinking neat Ouzo from a dry martini glass complete with 2 cherries on a stick and plastic umbrella depicting British Flag.

As you say, each to their own. My elder sister, yes I have an elder sister!!, and husband quite often go to Sidari for a holiday. They love it.
I'd love to persuade them to come to Arillas but early moring zimmer frame jogging doesn't appeal to me.
--- I Hope she doesn't access this website --- No offence "Sis"
( She's actually much.much fitter than I am )

Hi Barry, not sure why your friends could not get Mirage, we are just 2 , (checks wife is not hiding anyone) and we booked Mirage ok, guess it depends on tour operator or agent

anyway you will enjoy yourself there, we always have,

Regards
Bruce and Lynne
Flying out on 28th August 2009 (6th time)

Maybe it wasn't the river causing the funny smell around there lately. Maybe it was whatever they were watering the grass with.

Does it really honk?
It was ok last year but the river was a bit whiffy when you crossed the bridge.
Hope I don't burn !

Good point Maggie. It could well be.
I was there yesterday, stood on the bridge, took a few deep breaths and, nothing......
Didn't make a point of doing that especially but, it was "Gridlocked", by the Horizon, with  a parked coach ,cars trying to get past either way and cars parked just about anywhere. No where to go so parked up and took in the view and air for 5 minutes.
The Mirage was quite busy, and the grass looked very green!
