You're not kidding.

Hi Sue, It is a wondeful sort of thick custardy pudding in pastry if you go to
http://greekfood.about.com/b/2006/09/12/that-fabulous-custard.htm  you will find the recipe there. Viv

You saw the first customer at Night Owl yesterday waiting for it to open.

Well this was the first customer at Brouklis.

He was very well behaved, polite to all and never complained.
In fact you could say he was a real "pussy cat".
Interesting that a German couple who ate there last night call him Adolf on account of the dark smudge under his nose.

A very good evening at Brouklis with a very mixed clientele. About 19 people. Good to see all 3 "boys" back together working as a well oiled machine.
( Steak for me and Kebab for Wegg even though we were tempted by Briam, Bifteki, lentil soup, spinach pie. - Loads of choices ! - Plenty of time though !)

And.............. Just by coincidence.

what is galactoboureko...

Gala etc etc was freshly made, by Rula and we finished with this. I think it's like an egg custard with a filo pastry topping but that description does it no justice at all.
If Dimtris did tell me the ingredients I was too retsinered to remember.  However, Viv has just put on a much better description!

20 deg here at the mo and I'm sure Arillas will wait for me tomorrow as the weather is just right for a spot of gardening.

Cheers All
Negg

That Kitten is a very lucky little thing just to get the left over's (if there were any) Just the thought of Roula's cooking and the boy's fussing round, ahhhh I just can't wait still only 21 days & 17hrs to touch down. Viv

Hi all

Maybe I forgot to say but thanks to all for your kind words about the "Arillas Today" posts. Every body's opinion is very valuable to me and we must not forget all that it was me who raised the question, about spoiling the suprise, in the first place The question did reveal a very good cross section of respones.
A good honest debate and all points taken on board.

Anyway.... nuff said 'cause I have a proposal to all.

I could be "slightly" busy from May and you guys will be coming over having a holiday and a pretty good time. The Arillas today post is for all so what about who's here at any moment of time goes on the forum to tell, who's patiently waiting to join the fun. about the day?

It certainly won't offend me to see a new input, I don't own it, and it could be very good to get a different perspective on the daily goings on.

So, how about it people? - We're all roving reporters in our own way. And there are plenty of places where you can access the internett.

I'd luv to see and read them from someone elses point of view.
( Mind you I will still have my say ! )

Cheers
Neill Egg

Nice idea Negg. Would certainly add to what is already the main thread of our forum.

Jen and me will try to do our bit but will probably fail. We're already getting paranoid about fitting everything in to just 2 weeks. Our guesswork plans for just the first day is like an assault course...

And probably a hedge too!

Take care
Phil

Will certainly post when we get back, but

Thanks for the info on the custard pudd.  I thought it might be savoury.  I am not really a dessert person though and never have space for one at the end of a meal.  I like to save my "points" for another glass of wine!  LOL.

Glad you had a good time Eggy, wetting our apetitite with the menu.

I would like to see the "Arillas Today" topic stay as it is.

Other peoples daily reports would be posted anyway, in  "Just got Back" or similar, and I also  think it would spoil the uniqueness to have lots of other reports here. Its not only the content and the stories in the daily reports, Eggy, its the way you "Tell em".
