Hi Neil

Glad to hear you are feeling better.

Must make you feel better walking on the sea front at Arillas also.

Love the photos, only nine weeks tomorrow and we shall be there.

Amanda

Hi Eggy

I was wondering where you had got to, but I'm glad you feel a bit better and the photos are great. I hope it wasn't Hay Fever :-).

Riggers

I finally found out about the "hay" meaning. You just gotta be on yer guard against this chappie Terry, aint ja?
( I hope when I finally meet him I can keep my 2 euros in the back pocket and make him buy all the alcohol - I'm not proud! )

Arillas Today? - Take my word for it - It's looking good , the weather's good and a lot of activity going on all round. The last thing they want is a "pest" like me clicking pics.
Just as well really, as I left the camera at home. ( Is this an age thing? )

What really peeves me off is , no camera and driving down into Arillas from Afionas, finding the longest snake I have ever seen basking in the road!
It has to have been 3 foot long, an understatement as it covered half the road, and bronze in colour. I slowly crept forward and then It slid away in the bushes.
A beast of a snake! - And no camera! - Wotapic I donna have! ( Life still can be cruel )

On a lighter note. - Met Sandy and pals who came round for a late coffee/Ouzo this morning. She looks well and still unwinding, as I type, I think. I hope she won't mind me mentioning that her father is 89 years old! If I can look and feel that fit at 89 then I will be a happy man indeed! ( If he's 89 then I have to be around 38 right now! )

Went to Brouklis last night and had a very good time. Not a late night as we were both still a bit "heady" with this hay fever that Terry kindly diagnosed.
=But it's great to have a few good chats with Dimitris, Litsa,Noufris and Nickos. And.... not forgetting that little bundle of "chuckling" joy of a baby.
We make the most of it now as, from May onwards, a busy place it will be.

Easter here is bigger than I thought it would be, Everywhere you drive you see:-
"Kalo Paska" painted on the roads. - Happy Easter. How nice is that?
( In England the local council would probably prosecute for that! )

On Sunday we're invited round to our neighbours house, from 11am plus for some spit lamb and goodies etc. - Just turn up and enjoy at a time to suit. Can't be bad!
An old saying is:- " If you want to get a head in life then go early"
I may go a little later as I don't want the head! - Just some tender meat will do me.

Cheers
Negg

Justjen

Today is the same as "Good Friday" and Sunday, I think, is when the "fast" is broken and lamb is back on the menu. It's very difficult for me to get my "English" head around all this.

On our way home tonight we passed small groups of people carrying lighted candles and many cars parked around the local church so obviously something happening there.
It's all a very sombre occassion with very solid beliefs.

Corfu TV is showing a gathering around the Liston building area consisting of a procession of children slow marching and all looking very serious.
Other "local" channels are showing church services.

I'm not sure how Saturday fits in between tonight and Sunday.

A lot to take in and I cannot begin to understand it. It makes me feel a little inadequate that I didn't take enough time to find out much more beforehand.

Hi Negg!
Thanks for all your reports and photos, hope Dorita at the Bardis Hotel has got the pool filled now so that the water can warm up in that gorgeous sunshine ready for Friday 2nd. May when I arrive!
Looking forward to meeting you, I hope my 'Arillas Addict' T shirts arrive before I leave home, so you will be able to spot me as I walk to Brouklis!
Yammas,
Martin.
