Prices are artifically inflated due to the mergers and the market has not had time to react. I would imagine that things will settle around March.

Hello.  We have been looking at flights for next year.  We have been told to leave it a couple more weeks.  They should be looking a bit more realistic.  XL & Freedom flights were quite expensive.  We normally book late October.

Yes Kes.  They were using Air Malta this year and we flew with them from East Midlands.  Came back with some other carrier.  Both of usual XL standard - not great but ok for a short-haul flight.

Due to XL cancelling our booked flights, we have just been to Corfu and back with Thomson - flights late outbound and inbound, but much nicer planes than XL and no more expensive.  Problem was we had to fly from Manchester rather than East Midlands.

I have just looked for ourselves for next September and the total was £762 for 4 adults. £190 each i suppose is not too bad. Flying on the 1st September from Birmingham and that was with Air Malta.

I priced flights from Edinburgh next september. Its £198. per person. We flew from Newcastle this sept, for £148. However, we live only 15mins from Edinburgh, so this takes away the 2hour drive to Newcastle. Also, we can scrounge a lift there, so won't have to pay car parking either!(we scots know how to save our money you know)......

It`s true then Maggie, get over the border for a better price? I`ve heard it said, and can now appreciate. Daughter in law is a Scot, and very thrifty.

We have paid £194.00 each for a flight from Birmingham, with Monarch, on June 30th 2008, and that was booked with www.charterflights.co.uk.

Is anybody else on this flight yet?

I will look forward to that Kevin.g, but isn't a long time to wait, holidays don't come around soon enough.
