Christmas Flight to and from Corfu
« on: October 13, 2007, 11:36:19 AM »
As the weather turns autumnal, and summer tans fade, ones thoughts turn to Christmas.

Christmas in Corfu is a refreshing change from the commercial round of present hunting, for those of us in Corfu the English traditions of Christmas are sometimes one of the few things we miss!
For those concerned with timing of the return to Gatwick, you may be interested in the new Yotel cabins at Gatwick airport, Yotels ; reasonably priced they give a chance to catch a few hours rest before going for any onward connections.

Others may find the preferential car rates available to customers of Castaway Travel using well known car companies in the UK, who also offer one day one way rentals a useful way to get to their destination: World wide car hire
Bookings are now being taken, we look forward to hearing from you,

Hi Sue,

Does this mean that there are no flights going out this year on the 28th or will there be an announcement later? (fingers crossed!)

Probably jumping the gun, but is there likely to be a flight for Greek Easter in 2008?

It is a bit early!

Details of any Easter charter will not be available until after Christmas.

Greek Easter 2008 falls on 27th April.

Hi Kevin,

Last year we arrived the week before the season started.  We stayed in the apartments which Phil and Helen rent out privately at the Tria Adelphia.

Luckily the Greek Easter falls so late this year that I imagine it would be no problem to find accommodation elsewhere so near to the start of the season...that is providing the owners receive enough notice.

Look at the Arillas Tourist Map for ideas of accommodation or Dimitris accommodation page.

One hint...it can be cool in the evening so it may be worth considering accom' with heating, or climate control air-conditioning which you can switch to heat.  The Tria Adelphia has this..and we needed it!

Not all apartments are ready for Easter (shouldnt this be a separate thread!)Many people view the arrival of  the first charter flights as the beginning of their season. Traditionally everything opens around 1st May. Many people want the freedom to enjoy this huge family celebration without the worry of work and use Easter as the goal; ie opening as soon as its over! Having said that, these days there is always somewhere to stay. Easter can be seen as pretty high season to Greeks as it a very busy time of year, the island is full of mainlanders, for that reason you will always pay peak prices in hotels at that time of year, this does not apply so much to apartments.

Our first visit to Arillas was during the Easter Festivals back in  1994 APRIL,I may be a year out but it was very early in the season, George at the Malibu had just got his chairs out in time for the 30 odd holiday makers  who were looking for some where to go,we came from all over the uk on a weeks break in sunny corfu, didnt have a clue where we got to or what to expect, cpls, family, mums and daughters, but we all had to get along as there were not many of us there(it was sunny but not that warm)
Being in Arillas at easter is what made  that holiday and has been the reason why we have returned, never got there at easter again as it moves.
Would love to be there again at easter
