I have faith in Greek culture, I knew there would be an easy explanation for Sam's lack of communication !
I learnt a valuable lesson whilst on holiday in Arillas in September. My 21 yr old son was in Majorca @ the same time and something awful happened on his 6th day and he wanted to get home. Unfortunately I had taken my contract sim out of my phone and put a pay & go one in, so he couldn't contact us. My daughter who was with us had changed her number and Keith's phone didn't work (don't know why) My other son was back here in England but not at home so nobody had access to the details of where we were staying.
We are going away  later this week and I will make sure all three of them know where we are staying, what flights we are on and roughly what our itenary is.
Trish
next time you will have to get her to give you all the details, they just don't know how much we worry despite them thinking they are adults !

Dear  Amanda,Cheryl, Dave n Anne, Diane, Dimitris, Eggy, EEG, Lindypops, Sandy, Sharon F, Terry W, Vivian et al (if I have ommitted your name I apologise).

Thank you all so very much for your postings and good wishes - they really are heartwarming to receive in this cynical age.

It almost makes me wish I hadn't found her yet, so that I could continue contact - only joking!

However, I have had a deep love of Corfu for many years, and plan to retire there in a couple of years.  Contact with you good people has made me long for that day to arrive even sooner.

Wishing you all Peace, Health and Happiness in 2008.

Best wishes.
Trish

Thanks Trish, like Terry W said, this forum sums up Arillas and if you have never been then I think the reactions on here to your post will tell you that must visit it.

What a lovely feel good thread this was. xx

Stay in contact and when you come over in June let us know here just before.
We can all sit and have a drink in the Coconut Bar, Arillas.

Hi Trish,

Brilliant news about your daughter - but you really can count on the people of Corfu to go out of their way to help (as they did with my daughter a few years ago over a different incident).

BUT - please don't think you will get out of the Coconut after only ONE drink with Eggy - more like a serious session.  (Love you loads Egg and Wegg!!!)

Hi Trish so glad that you can now relax. God daughters! I worry all the time and insist that when they are out and staying over at friends, they text me to say goodnight( sad, I know ) always greeted with..." Oh mum, for God's sake!" Enjoy Sidari, but you will love Arillas!

Really glad everything has worked out for you.

Daughters are such a worry no matter how old they are.

As has already been said the people of corfu are so helpful and always go out of their way, we could all take a few tips from thier culture.

Hi to one and all,

I suppose I can now re-name this post "Landed in London".

I collected Sam from Gatwick yesterday, she was very tired but pleased
to be home.  She tells me she has had the time of her life, and that the
family she has been staying with treated her like a daughter - she has
never known such hospitality and has a very high regard for the people
she has met.

I am not sure how long she will be home, she is already talking of returning
as soon as she possibly can to work in north Corfu, and who can blame her?
not me for sure, I am simply jealous.

Anyway just thought I'd bring you all up to date.

If my message board etiquette is incorrect, kindly forgive as until my contact
with this website, I have never posted anywhere previously and not sure I know
my way round just yet.

Seasons greetings to you all.

Kind regards.
Trish

Thanks for the update Trish

Next time your daughter goes to Corfu, maybe you should not panic as much as I'm sure she will be as safe as houses.
