Dimitris...could it be that Cheap-flights know more about the rate of Global Warming than the experts?! It looks like you will be open 52 weeks of the year now!!!

Okay....here is the easy one (LOL...get it?!)

Easyjet:

London Gatwick-Corfu

Mon-Fri & Sun dep 17.30 (31st March-28th Sept)
Sat dep 12.05 (from 3rd May-27th Sept)

Kalimera Dimitris!
I thought you would be surprised at the 'goings on' at these U.K. rural airports. Some flights will have three or maybe more companies all selling seats on the same flight., as well as 'independent' direct bookings. I found it a lot cheaper to book with 'First Choice', as this flight was £30 cheaper than the 'Thompsonfly' booking on the same aircraft! It was also cheaper for me to book at the Thomson Travel Shop near to where I live rather than on line where they wouldn't sell me a 'single' seat! Very strange.
This is going to make your taverna booking system a bit more complicated!
Yammas,
Martin.

Fantastic idea Dimitris and what great contributions from Eileen, Marika and Phil&Jen.  How jealous I am of your efficiency!
I have just paid an exhorbitant price for our flights in June from East Midlands as the prices are gradually creeping up (daily from some airlines) - nearly £100 more than I paid last year.  I was too scared to leave it any longer as generally prices go up when the seats are running out!
I notice Marika's contribution has a lot of Air Berlin flights and this airline offers very good prices UK to Germany.  Perhaps next year I'll look at stoppng off in Germany!!

I look forward to seeing your final topic composition Dimitris!

We have flown to Dusseldorf Weezer on  cheapy flights.   I wonder if Marika's Dusseldorf flights leave from there to Corfu.  I know its a bit of a trip but it might work out cheaper sometimes.

I've done the same thing Harold....didn't think the Easyjet Gatwick flight would start until May so we have booked via Athens....then discovered we could go from Gatwick direct in April. Infuriating but at least we'll know for next year....

thanks everyone for helping on this post.
harold and sally,! its a pity but we are never able to predict those games.

I was just looking for flights in October with easyjet and found that there are good deals for example 75 to 85 pounds per person return.

Hi All,
The only problem with these flights to travelers like myself is the cost and additional time it takes to get to these distant and vastly overcrowded airports from 'the sticks'. I am looking at a journey of in excess of five hours each way from Cardiff. Long and boring with stops at every town and service station. Its about time more flights were made available from 'local' airports to relieve congestion on the London areas.
Never mind the plans to extend the large airports, lets get the 'local' airports into providing a better service!
Martin.

Hear! Hear! Martin.

Though we can get to Gatwick by train (the drive on M25/23 is too much for me now) the flight times are awkward so we spend all the saving on staying overnight. Too old now to sit in the airport from midnight to 7am when the first train goes.

More regional flights without the ridiculous surcharges would be a real step forward.

Phil

Well said Martin, I totally agree.

We have limited destinations from Norwich Airport also.  But you can fly to Schipol and then onwards but it costs a fortune!!

First Choice do have their own aircraft (the ones with the turquoise fin) but are merging with TUI of which Thompsonfly is a part of. FYI Thompson may be pulling out of the charter seat only market.

My Travel ceases to exist in 14 days, it Looks like a Thomas Cook Aicraft convention at Manchester Airport. I am changing jobs here again for the 2nd time in 2 months, yay!!!!!

Nice to hear from you again Joe. :-)

That's scary news about Thomsonfly, that will severely restrict our options.  Mind you the prices that their website is showing at the moment are so ridiculously high that I'd be surprised if they manage to offload them at all.

Maybe once you have settled down into your latest job you will be able to come back onto the forum as much as before.

Take care,

Eileenx
