i.e. Every Tuesday, forum members meet up in the Coconut at 8.00 pm.

One advantage I can see in doing this, is that I can imagine that not all forum members would welcome being approached in a restaurant, or on the beach etc. by complete strangers, with an "Excuse me , but are you......?"
They may wish to keep their identity concealed, and consider it an invasion of privacy.
If we do it this way, then we can assume that anyone in 'Forum corner' at 8.00pm is probably a forum member wanting to meet others.

(Sorry Johntheref, I seem to have hijacked your idea! - will a large Metaxa or Ouzo suffice as an apology?

It would also make it easier for people tavelling on their own to meet people.

Can anyone see any disadvantages, 'cos I think I may be being a bit blinkered here!!

That's a good suggestion John, it was interesting to read Angie's thoughts too.  We find that there is not enough time on holiday to meet up with everyone we would like to, so we would probably take advantage of the 'members corner'.

I can't think of a down side Angie... just don't suggest we wear a red rose, or t-shirt or anything remotely naffy like that! ;-)

I was going to suggest knotted hankies, braces and socks with sandals.(- I would insert a smiley face here, but haven't worked out how to do it yet!)
