Hi Family, Been away for a few days so only just picked up on this post, what a great idea. A donate botton makes it so easy to do and Pete and I would be proud to donate it's my hobbie when we are here and Pete loves  working with Dimitris on the site while we are in Arillas.  Viv

This forum is like a very large family and good families are always there for each other.

Dimitris, Eggy has answered perfectly for all of us.  Understand what you are saying, but please allow us to give some back.

hello again everyone!
I know and  I understand your feelings by 100%.
I have considered about your offer  and  talked to my Psychiatrist about all that.....
I'm sure that If I will do this my personality will be hurt in some point.
On the other hand, I do not want o heart anyones feelings.
I only deal with money in my personal business and if I will accept donations for my hobby then it is not going to be a hobby anymore.
Imagine that you like painting, and someone tells you that if you paint for him a portrait he will give you 500 euros.
Are you going to have the same pleasure as if you would have done it to kill your time?

SO my decision is definite as far as donations are concerned.

Consequently, I can point you a fiew ways of how you can help our website in different ways,

Thats for now the floor tile layers are asking for some coffee!!

Pete's busy on his computer at the moment doing somebody's family history for them. I have often said that he should take payment for it and he has said defintly not. I didn't think about it as you have just explained but understand now. Guess I will just have to put up with our bank balance going down every time he finds something he needs to help. Good job I don't buy a new dog to train every week. lol. Viv

I"m back again!

I went to the beach and took some very nice pictures.
I attach one here!

As far the web cam is concerned you should not worry,! We have already mamanaged to get more than 1200Euros from the local businesses, the camera and teh waterproofed equipment has already arrived  in a shop in Corfu town We are still waiting for all the funds to be collected until the end of the month!
it is that one here http://www.provantage.com/levelone-fcs-1040~9LVEL002.htm

I;ll try and explain you now a way that you can help your beloved website!
One of the thinks I would love to have for the website is a local meteorological on line station.  ( JamesW should know about this gadgets)
1)Lets have a search on the web and see what is the best solution for a website like ours!
2)lets find out how much it would cost
3) Lets find out how many people would be willing to donate for such a "gift" for arillas.com
4) Let's divide the total price by the number of people who are donating.
5) We post it to the Webmaster and leave him and his team to do the rest.
At the end of that we have all helped to upgrade the services of our favorite website and we are waching the arillas-weather in real time not only with a webcam but also with real time numbers!.

I have seen something similar here!

And they are very nice pictures indeed!  I love the close up it's a fantastic shot Dimitris.

Good to hear that the webcam equipment has safely arrived, hopefully it won't be too long until you are unwrapping this new toy!

The weather station sounds like an excellent idea to me and such a perfect accompaniment to the webcam.

You have my pledge.

Eileenx

P.S if there is any money left over could you please purchase a private jet for all us Arillas members!

Brilliant, Dimitris.

Now the members can feel we're putting something back in for all we get out of being on Arillas.com. Would be a great enhancement to the site - online weather as well as pictures! We will feel even closer than before, which is what most of us keep dreaming of.

Jen and me will be happy to contribute.

And Eileen - think of Eggy as the pilot and riggers as first officer! Do they make executive jets that run on ouzo and Glenfiddich??? I would apply to be flight engineer!

lol

Whilst agreeing with everything said above re. contributing towards the cost of maintaining the site, and purchasing a new webcam etc, I am reluctant to support any additional facilities that may require Dimitris spending more time working on the site. I think he already puts alot of work into it and wouldn't want to add to his workload.
