On May 15 Aegean will begin twice daily non-stop service from Athens to London's Stansted Airport using brand new Airbus A321. Prices are showing up until January 25th 2009.

Departure times are:

London-Athens 10.20 & 20.20

Athens-London 07.30 & 17.10

A straight through ticket to Corfu can be purchased at the same time, although it would be a good idea to check the price of this leg of the journey with Olympic at www.olympicairlines.com

I had heard of this when I skyped my friend in Crete this week.   Out of season she has to fly to Athens and was pleased to hear aegean are doing more flights to Crete -Heraklion from Athens.  Easy Jet too if I remember rightly. (someone might be able to put me right) she lives in chania though so its 1.5 hrs. transfer so instead of getting a taxi she hires a car for £30 part day instead of a £50 taxi fare which is a thought if anyone is considering travelling there.  Its great when you can get more flights now out of season.
