Flying when pregnant?
« on: March 13, 2008, 03:53:41 PM »
Hi, does anyone know if I can fly at 29 weeks pregnant?  I usually go to Arillas twice a year in May and August.  I am due to have our first baby August 11th, but would love to go to Arillas in May but I will be 29 weeks pregnant.  I keep getting conflicting information when I look on the internet for any information.

Any help would be very grateful

Michelle

And.... If the doctor says it's OK to fly then please check your holiday insurance.

Michelle, I think you may be ok to fly out, but you may be too far on to come back.
(Ah, shame, you may have to stay and have your baby in Arillas!).

I dont know about now but when I was epecting my first I was due to fly to Malta at 28 weeks and found that only one airline would accapt me. Cant remember which one it was, A very long time ago just thought that it might still differ from airline to airline. Anyway the best of luck in the furture. Let us know if you do go and let us know when baby arrives. Viv

Hi Michelle

I'm also pregnant so have been researching this myself - some airlines will allow you to travel up until 34 weeks although finding travel insurance is difficult. Marks and Spencer have a policy which will cover you as long as you return home before 32 weeks.

Although we would love to visit Arillas this year we've decided against it and will be staying at home!! Will definately be going back with our new arrival in 2009 though.

Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy!

Thanks for your replies, after much thought we have decided to leave it until next year.  Really going to miss Arillas but it will be nice going next year as a family.

Will post when the little one arrives in August.
