Hello Gillian and Peter,

Unfortunately as you will probably know by now there are no direct flights to Corfu between Nov and May.  There are special charters on for Christmas for 7 and 14 nights.  There are also charters on for Easter, but the schedule has still to be anounced.

Here is a copy of an email I received on 8/11/04 from Sue at Castaway Travel regarding the Christmas flights:

Dear all,
I would just like to say that Christmas in Corfu is a wonderful time. The town sparkles with millions of lights and  there is a wonderful atmosphere. Go back to the old non-commercial style Christmas, ( we havent even got Christmas cards in the shops yet!) and New year is a very special time too, when Agh Vasilis ( St Nick in Holland, Sanata Claus in England) Visits and leave the children presents and traditionally Greek men will be found playing cards in their local Kafenion, and gambling the night away!
Yes, Turkey does feature on the menu but you may miss the Cranberry sauce!
This DIRECT charter is ideal for those wishing to visit their houses in the winter and for those who havent taken that plunge yet accommodation and car hire  can be arranged.

It seems that if you want to travel outwith these times you will have to fly via Athens, another option is to fly with a budget airline to Italy and take the ferry from there.

Take a look at this website http://www.corfuhomes.com/index.htm where
you will find long term rentals in Arillas featured.
Good luck,

Eileen

Hiya Eileen
Just found out that both lots of parents will be with us at Xmas !!!!!
which would be expensive , unless I went on my own again ? but i would miss all the fun with the girls.
spoke to M. & S. the other day and they said there flight was about 230 pounds each return which i thought was pretty good for the time of year,
and that was to & from Heathrow with Olympic.
call you soon. Regards to all the family.

Hello Paul,

First  highlight and copy (Ctrl & c is the method I use) the text you want to quote, then click on the Quote button on the menu at the top of the reply box, next copy the text onto the page (using Ctrl & v) then click on the Quote button again.

Yes you are better off at home with your family  :) thats what christmas is all about :) and you men come in handy at washing up time
