No they are not that far away, we stayed there a couple of years ago.  But it is just a drag when you are boiling hot from the beach, that is all I meant.  It is not far to them whichever way you walk, but past the Armourada it is quite a steep hill.

Doing it once or twice is fine but when you do it four times a day, every day, it gets a bit of a drag.

I do know what you mean though Mango.  When the weather isnt so hot you dont mind a bit of a walk.  When we were at the Galini & we did the walk during the day for the beach and back and it was tiring when you are hot and then again in the evening which wasnt so bad, but all in all it isnt far at all, we walk further when we are at home, but there again it doesnt get that hot here does it, and we dont carry great pack of bottles of water either, great big water melons, cans of beer, flagons of wine, bread, olives, crisps, croissants, bread, fruit, towels, lilos, sun cream etc. etc. etc. LOL

Hi BG

Thanks for that, you hit the nail on the head.  That is what I was trying to say!!

I walk miles at home but in the heat over in Arillas it is a different story.

When i booked last friday for Mathraki i managed to get for £890 now less than a week later its bang on £1000, is it a case of suply and demand why the prices fluctuate so much ?

Well we will be there on friday 30th,I had a fab price of £540 1 week for the both of us, that was less than the price of flight only, so whilst we have gone independant for the past few years this time a package came top.We last stayed at Mathraki on our first visit to Arillas back in 94,they didnt have a pool then so we are looking forward.

You'll be absolutely fine...about 5 to 10 minutes to the beach depending on whether you are strolling. Lovely place and the hill is just a slope really.....

You beat me to it Sandy.  When we booked with the Galini a couple of years ago they said it was near the beach in the Brochure, well it wasnt that close and had a hill to go up and down, even though it wasnt that bad Mike had a bad leg at the time.  So it is best to ask for personal opinions I think.  You will be in a good spot at the Mathraki.  If you go on the Arillas map you can see where it is placed, its not as far as it looks and the "hill" is just as Sandy says. Nice and quiet too. You will have a great time!

HI Dimitris
I'm probably a bit late but here is the Thomson Link to Mathraki- it's not  that detailed and they don't have any photos , just a cartoon drawing that looks like a block of flats

Mary, Mathraki have their own website here

http://www.mathrakistudios.net/index-3.html

Think this will give you a better idea than the Thomson site
