Great news - my husband's got the time off work and we've booked! I just can't wait - Arillas looks fantastic and the villa sounds (and looks in the photos) gorgeous. We're pretty sure we're not going to bother hiring a car, but instead hire a small boat for a few days (we did that in Paxos last year and it was great fun) and then perhaps try quad bikes (??!!) Never tried them before - any thoughts on that? we're both early 50s, not amazingly agile but not too bad - it sounds like the roads around Arillas are quite quiet... any feedback welcome!

Hi Suzie, when are you going in September?
Chris and I are going on 27th August for a week. We are going to hire quad bikes this time, as is looked such great fun when we went last year!
I dont think age matters, it's how you feel yourself. Let your hair down and go for it.
Have a fantastic time, I know we will.

HI Vicki, We're going the week after that - hoping second week of September will still be warm (and dry!) Yes, I agree, age doesn't matter - we're going to give it a try!

I'm really pleased for you, Suzie - you'll LOVE Arillas and Villa Linakis!
We've never tried quad bikes but have seen many people on them, and as long as you don't go too mad I'm sure they're great fun! Age doesn't matter - do what you want. Us? We just walk (too tight to hire any vehicle, but that's Yorkshire folk for you!)
Actually it's the only exercise we get all year....

Go for it suzie q. We hire a quad for a few days every holiday and love it. We're not young either but young at heart. We even go up to the top of pantocractor on it. Its well worth the journey. You'll love it.

What was  Arillas like in 1984 Sueroy it must have been very different from today
Dimitris would have only been 11 years old and the internet hadn't really been born then
Do you have any pics from those days you could post on the site i'm sure a lot of the members would love to see them happy days eh :-)

Have often browsed through these old pictures, but was nice to do so again. Thanks for the "prod" Dimitris.

My Wife and I first walked to Arillas from San Stephanos (then always called Agios Stephanos) some 26 years ago, it was very quiet and we only saw about 10 people, we are coming to stay in Arillas this July for the first time, can't wait!

Wise choice, dicky mint.  Where are you staying? Wherever it is, you`ll enjoy.
Then when you get back, just tell us all about it.

We are staying at the Mathraki apts, arriving on the early hours of 17th July (03:10 landing at Corfu).

Any bars open at that time, I might need a drink.
