Debit Cards in Arillas

When travelling to Arillas we have always brought Cash or Travellers cheques. I now use a debit card more than ever. How welcome are these in the restaurants? Can i pay for meals and drinks readily using my Debit Card or should i still bring cash etc

Hi Annie,

You can use cards in most of the shops and some restaurants/tavernas but will need cash, especially in some smaller places. Don't forget though there is now an ATM in Arillas so if stuck you can get cash with your card.

There are a few places in Arillas that will take cards. I know Brouklis and Costas on the beach and ,I think Thalassa.

Ina's will take a card for large tobacco purchases. Some supermarkets may charge a small percentage for a card purchase.

It would pay to ask first as,for example,Mon Amour at Kavaddades only take paper money. Something friends of ours found at after they had eaten.
( I think they are still there washing dishes! )

Thanks for this info. I think i will stick to cash it is much easier. You mentioned Mon Amour we would like to go there this year. If you had to pick a restaurant in Arillas like Mon Amour which one would it be

Yes, Thalassa does take cards and Christos Appartments doesn't. As Negg says - best to ask first.

I take my debit card but would only use as a last resort. Much rather use cash.

If you had to pick a restaurant in Arillas like Mon Amour which one would it be

It would be difficult to pick one because each Taverna/Restaurant does their own thing.
Mon Amour buy their fresh meat locally as does Brouklis and many other places in Arillas.

If you want a large choice of Greek Dishes then Brouklis specials could be the ones for you.
( Try the lentil soup some time and the Courgette pie for lunch - Sardines )

If you love meat and "something" then Mon Amour will not let you down.
If you want a change from the norm then Thallassa or Costas on the beach
Night Owl will give you good food but don't expect a thick menu.
Eftihia gives you good honest food plus a great sea veiw.
( I saw some food coming out from Marina the other day and very good it looked too )

So many places each doing their own thing.  I've left out a lot of other peoples favourites but not purposely - too many to list.

I was trying to get a feel for the type of restaurant Mon Amour was. I love all the others. Broukalis Horizon and Marina especially i need to bribe the kids to go somewhere different. Last time we took them to a new one they did not like it. Each to ther own so they want to go where they know.

Hi Annie

Mon Amour is mainly meat. Generally you will get your choice served with chips.

Greek salad or green salad is good and tstaziki is good plus there pitta breads.
( all to order )

Steak is good as is the lamb and the pork chop and the kebab. Chicken is tasty and so is the pork roll. ( sometimes a twinge salty for me )

It's a good place to be and has a good atmosphere.
