Hi, Eggy.  Hope you can help out-  Any news on the rates your end? Not sure to stock up here or there.  If there`s not much in it we`ll  exchange here.

Ps   If anyone has got a good rate, let me know.

Hi Paul,
Got a good rate in Thomson Travel shop with a guaranteed 'buy back' much better than Barclays and equal to the post office. The rate does change day to day though. I was told mid week is best with them.
Yammas,
Martin.

A forum member recommended TMS a little while ago and have been keeping an eye on their rates.  Today they are offering around €1.12 to €1.14 for £300 or more for delivery 31 days hence.
Am thinking of using them myself since the local Post Office is only offering €1.04.
Their web site is at

Its going up.

Now, shall I wait another week or buy now? I can get €1.1476 today but looking at the graph on BBC it could be over €1.15 next week. Decisions decisions

1.1758 as I type, best its been since 2008. It keeps having dips, but the gains seem to wipe these out each time. Its good all round, as the better deal you get in the resort the more you eat and drink.

Sorry Amanda, thats the official rate on the BBC website, under business and market data. Im not lucky enough to be in Arillas at the moment, but found last year that the lovely guy at the Marina Hotel gave a great rate, or was it because he was so pleasant? I find whatever the official rate is in the UK the rate in the resort is closer than any highstreet trader in the UK.

I think things are on the up, might watch it a couple of weeks and see if it can break the 1.20 mark.

We will wait and see till the last minute. Gaz, we think it's on the up too. The world has realised Gordon Brown can't get any worse...

Politics aside, the collapse of Sterling has destroyed our plans so far. We should have been living in NW Corfu by now. We will as soon as we can. Somehow, we belong there.

Phil/Isobel

Living there, how cool. Will that be a year round thing or will either of you want to keep a bolt-hole in the UK for the winter or simply a break from paradise now and then. Its something I guess many people dream of in this forum and as dreams go sounds pretty damn good.
