Exchange rates on offer dropping like a stone here at the moment. Best rates gone from 1.25 to 1.23 in 2 days!!

Does anyone think this is just a hiccup? Or is it likely to keep dropping?!!!! (wish I'd ordered mine the other day now!! Is the rate dropping in Arillas too?

It's just crept up to 1.25 euros today y'all.

For the first time today the cashpoint had run out of money.

A very busy August methinks!

Like the others above I'm still undecided....

What's the exchange rate/commission situation for £ cash exchange?
How many places do it? And who gives the best deals?

Lyn

It's still e 1.257 today and expect a 2% charge for exchange which gives you around a e 1.232 mark. This is for cash and Travellers cheques.
But if you already paid commission  on your T/C's then dont expect many euros extra just peace of mind that you are exchanging when you need the cash and a good feeling that you are exchanging with local Arillas businesses.

Just got 1.22 for a "clearance sale" at First Choice. Had to be in 100 euro notes which are unpopular and they wanted to get rid of them. Shame theye didn't just give them away... Their ordinary rate was 1.18, but Lloyds bank was 1.20 all with no commission.

So it looks like most of our exchange will be while we are there, on our Nationwide FlexCard.
