I guess ours was when we spent our last evening in San Stef in 2002 in a party of 7 - 3 older couples and a relatively young chap.
We went to a taverna where they employed a beautiful east european blonde girl called Natasha, and we arranged a mock wedding to our young friend (the one who lost then found his bagful of cigarettes - another post.) We had the mock wedding ceremony with plastic rings etc and the "bride" was given away by the owner of the taverna. Lovely old boy. And then the reception - a real feast. Jen and I had boiled prawns - should have had one between us because there were just so many gigantic prawns you would not believe. We ate it all though. Litres and litres of red wine, cocktails, black Russians, you name it. Speeches then dancing and merriment followed for a long while. But quite unknown to us, traditional Greek dancers appeared and performed. It was perfect. the taverna was busy and very amused at the whole spectacle.
We were leaving to fly home that night at 2am so we had to leave the taverna at about midnight. The owner had arranged us a taxi up the hill, but one of our party had told him we would walk. Jen was not amused. She doesn't walk well at the best of times. We stopped at Christos apartments on our way up, and had long goodbyes with Filipos and Barbara (sadly no longer together) and Angela. We were already well oiled, but several black russians later we staggered back to Alex studios just in time to meet the taxi at 2am.
It is a wonder they let me on the plane, but they did. to be honest, if they hadn't we would have stayed in Arillas for at least another week, so I was sad about it.
Can't post a pic - someone borrowed them and never gave them back.
