Just to let you know we hired a boat for the day from the watersports at Arillas beach. Cost was 135 euro, including fuel, and there was room for 6 of us. We managed to go down to Palio in the morning and tied up at the Harbour there and had a good look around. We then went up to Sidari in the afternoon and spent time swimming around the caves. A really good fun day out.
2 warnings - firstly keep applying the suncream as it is deceptively hot on the boat. Secondly watch out for the big yellow 'submarine' boat at Palio. This thing comes into the harbour at about 100mph as we were chugging out at about 2mph. The first I knew of it was when it started blowing it's horn and was bearing down on us at a great rate of knots - I was eating a donut at the time as I was navigating out of the harbour and to be honest should have been paying a bit more attention. Everyone was laughing on the submarine boat and shouting at me on our boat - I did manage to open the throttle in time and steer out of danger. By the way those big ring donut's are really good.
