Arillas Fundraising Bazaar

Dear all

I have just been reading about a wonderful children's charity based in Magoulades Corfu:

Apparently, they are holding a fundraising bazaar in Arillas on Sunday February 20, with lots of different things going on:

Sounds like a really worthwhile thing and, although it will be too late for the bazaar, I would love to get more information on the charity.

Does anyone have any further info?

Thanks

Stuart

Hello Stuart,

Yes I heard of this charity only last year and thanks for bringing that article for our attention.  I was told the founders son was the inspiration for the charity and the logo the charity uses is taken from an image of the boy.  Apparently after his son's death (and I'm sure there must be people who can correct me if I'm wrong) his father was so moved by the plight of needy children that he founded this charity organization for children the world over.  I believe that it is not only Greek children in their care.

If you go into Alecs supermarket at the beach you will see items for sale with the logo on them (you may need to ask at first so that you can recognise it in future), all profit from the sale goes to the charity, so a very worthwhile purchase indeed.

I enquired if I could visit the 'home' and was told that I could, so I intend to do so this year if it is permissable.

Eileen. (looking forward to any further information on this)
