SIDARI

OK - I know this strikes terror into some of the Forum hearts but ................

It's not Kavos yet and has suffered, so I'm told, a very poor 2008 season. But it still has it's followers, just like Arillas.

When you're limited on places to eat and drink in the winter then places like the "Red Lion" and "Baze" and "Churchills" for fish n chips come into their own.
( Somewhere different for a change )
I buy my cigs at Smokers corner in Sidari and get a free lighter for every 200.

And, in the Winter you get a chance to look deeper into what it has to offer.
It's what North Corfu is all about and is part of that large selection of choice.

Like it or hate it everyone should give Sidari a visit at least once.

Cheers
Negg

Well it looks pretty darn good from that picture. I must say we only went once when i hired a car. I didn't really give it a chance, came straight back to Arillas. Maybe next time. (avrio as you say)

cheers.

I so agree with Maggie and riggers. Only ever been there in late July. Next year we might find a new face of Sidari, we have open minds.

Lovely pic Eggy.

We went to Sidari on the scooter back in September. Walked through the town, sat and looked at the sea. Found a nice little taverna, had a bite to eat, chatted with the owner for an hour. All very enjoyable, but wouldn't want to holiday there. That said always worth a visit to see a different side of Corfu.

Paul,
There is a little Kafenio/Bar in the middle of Sidari where I went with Lindypops and Mal in 2007. We were in Sidari very early and just sat, with drink in hand, and watched the place wake up. Can't remember the name of the place but Mal will know.

Found this pic of Roda, which I took around this time last year. Don't think I ever posted it so will now.

I know these places look so different in the Winter, but if you're on a mini sighseeing tour and have done Sidari, and plan to look at Kassiopi, then Roda could be your next "on the way" stop.

After blowing a gale overnight, and most of North Corfu suffering from more water that is permitted in yer Ouzo, these are pictures of Roda today.

.

In the summer you would find it difficult to park along here and you'll also see that it's not only Arillas that has to put a lot of winter work in preparing the beach for 2009.

Cheers

Took a little recce into Agious Georgeous ( San George ) this morning.

May be another one for your shortlist as a bit of a "sight see".
( Wheels recommended as, to me, this is fair ole walk.

Great Pictures Eggy - tell a story better than a thousand words.
While I've stayed in Sidari and had a good holiday, and visited Roda (love the food at the Aphrodite, and think the beach at Ag. Georgios is great you can't beat .....

(Drawing by my dear wife, Julia, Summer 2004 with a little tweaking by me)
Best wishes
