Ah Geoffrey! Jen and I have many sides to us. The more obvious one - drunk, rebel-rousing party-animals might be real, but so are all the others. We both love to sit in a taverna sipping Mythos or Amstels, chatting and watching the darts. And to sit together in Graziella with a mezes lunch just watching Gravia in case it moves. Or simply sunbathing on the beach/by the pool (we differ there.)

We're just more fun to be with when in party-mode!

This could be read as - "Why is old Capt Bob smiling?

Whether a statement of question, he'smiling because, barring any disasters, The Night Owl team are on target to retain the League Winners sheild for the 2nd Winter.
In a very exciting match against Armourada they secured a fine 8-3 win which now means that, although Three W's took 10 points from Owlettes, Capt Bob's team command a 6 point lead. Two matches left and Three W's have to play Owl and Armour. They will need at least 18 points of the 22 on offer to have any chance of an upset. - A big ask indeed.
That said, Owlettes continue to spring suprises in matches, as they last night, when the pairs combi of Margueritta & Linda took out Mick & Willy. This ended Mick's 100% record. Maybe Owlettes next suprise will be a 8-3 win over "Bobby's Boys" ?

Meanwhile..... Night Owl left Owlettes with shell shock, but still yolking after being beaten 11-0.  Owlettes did manage to scramble home with a few eggs, sorry legs, though.
It may be "ada" for the Armour, next week, to hatch a similar result with Omlettes
(Sorry Owlettes)

Three W's now need to beat the Owl 11-0 to win the title. With only one match left this seems a hard boiled task indeed. Night Owl will soon whisk the winners sheild away and feather their nest ready for next Winter. Three W's will have to "lay" low and together with Armour and Owlettes plan to fry a little in the Summer Sun then come back with a vengeance next Winter.
We all look forward to presentation of awards when Capt Bob and Team will all, no doubt, be twittering away with glee and WHY NOT!

( Runner Up - Capt Pavlos from Three W's )
( Semi-Finalists - Willy - Three W's and Penny - Owlettes )

Open Pairs K/O Winners - Derek and Gary from Armourada
( Runners up - Capt Bob and Nickos from Night Owl )

Fastest leg of 301 and 171 (3 x 19 scored ) - Nickos from Night Owl
180's scored by Gary and Nick (Armourada) and Mick ( Three W's )

Best Lady player -Jean - Armourada - Placed No.7 from 30 with a 65% strike rate.

Most improved player for 2010 - Claire -Owlettes

Ladies K/O Winner - Jean from Armourada
( Runner up - Anne from Armourada )

The top 12 in the averages played for the title of Number 1 seed at Armourada last night and the title goes to :-

Nickos from Night Owl who beat Xrisanthos ( Three W's ) Derek ( Armourada ) and then Capt Pavlos ( Three W's ) in the Final.
(Negg finished no.6 from 30 in the averages but lost to Xrisanthos in the 2nd round)

Hya all, thanks for the darts photos!!
I just asked for some on another thread before I found this!!
Only tried darts myself decades ago in a pub in Guildford, Surrey,
and I was absolutely lousy at it. Had great fun though!!!

Negg, how could you? Pay back time, I think..........

I had an absolutely fantastic time last night in the Amourada, because of the such good company, the atmosphere, the celebrations when Nikos won & of course, the flowing drinks helped!!..... These Arillians are leading me astray everyone. Lol
I also realized what a fantastic job Negg does at organising all the darts events. It's thanks to Negg that certain people have such a wonderful social life & I think he deserves a huge round of applause from everyone for all the time & effort he puts in to making these night's a night to remember [& working out the statistics!!]
