The final Winter League matches have been played and Armourada's game against Sunset must be one of the best matches this season. The win went Armours way, 7-4, but Sunset must be pleased with the 16-13 leg scoreline.

Armour's Leon excelled with 5 scores of 100+. Another hitter of merits was Mikalis, Three W's, who hit 6 merits which included 2 x 140's, the 3rd dart, each time just missing for that magic 180.

Owl/Rainbow Dimitris finishes top of the merits with 50 hits of 100+, including 2 maximums.

Night Owl win the league, for the 4th Winter with a points total of 141, which beats their last Winters tally by one point and Owl Makis keeps his unbeaten singles record with 14 from 14. Young Owl, Spiros finishes top of the league table with an overall 96%
 
Amour's Jean finishes top of the Ladies table with 44 points, winning 10 of her singles games and a healthy 63% share of the doubles. Golden Girl, Marcia must be pleased with her final points total of 36 which qualifies her for the Round Robin event.

Each group was a hard fought affair for all, with Dimitris playing a “never give up” Xrisanthos, with Capt Bob clinging to a deciding 3rd leg with “3W’s” Lezsek. Mikalis had to overcome 14 from 14 singles winner, Makis and then 6 from 6 singles winner, Spiros (Owl) in a very nervy quarter final
Nickos had to hold on to form against NTS veteran Willy.

None of this would be happening without the sponsorship from you Arilliacs so we are all winners.

And ……
With 55 singles wins,this Winter, shared between the last 4 players, it should be a good finals night.

All finals have now been decided with Night Owl "A" vs Three W's "A" in the Team K/O

The "Arilliac Super Singles" has an 3 Owls but a "W" is in there with Mikalis taking on Capt Bob in the semi final.

The league "301 Singles" has an Owl vs a "W" in both semi finals.
Xrisanthos vs Makis and Negg vs Nickos.

The Pairs final is an all Owl affair with Makis n Nickos vs Capt Bob n Dimitris.

Any Forum pals here on Wednesday 18th April note that our Award Presentation and buffet, with music by Darren May is that evening at Three W's

" The recipe for a good darts match"

First, take 3 well seasoned Owls.
Add to these , but very slowly:- some Three W spices.
First, gently add a hard boiled EGG.
(This may "BOB" up and down in the pan and the Owls should then be allowed to simmer)
Add further spices when the Owls are cooking nicely and the flesh seems to be falling from the bones.
But - Do not add too quickly as the Owls will boil over and react to the Three W
further introduction of spices. This will then be a battle of tastes and if this  happens the Owls will dominate the dish and the taste of any spices will
will be very soon forgottten.

Or..... I could say the final result in the Team K/O  was:-
Night Owl 4
Three W's 3
(W's were 3-1 ahead - Wot went wrong?)

" Owls fail to to catch elusive Robin again "

Night Owl's chance of another "Grand Slam" of titles escaped them yet again in the "Round Robin K/O"

Played in 3 groups, the Owls were represented by young Spiros and Rainbow Spiros who won through to the group final and then faced Three W's,group winner, Capt. Xrisnathos. Spiros Owl, looked the stronger of the Owls with a 2 leg to zero win over Spiros (Rainbow) only to lose 2-0 to Xrisanthos.
Needing only 1 leg to secure victory, Xris then beat Rainbow Spiros 2-0 to retain the title he won last year.

Final results.
Group 1-Spiros(Owl) 6.- Mikalis(W's) 4.-Willy(Sunset) 2- Dawn(Owlettes) - 2
Group 2-Spiros(Rain) 6- Leon(Armour) 4 -Marcia (Goldies) 2 - Alan (Sunset) 1

" Birds of a feather.............. "
.......not only flock together but when you are talking Owl's it should read play together. The semi's of the super singles saw Mikalis take the deciding leg against Owls's Capt Bob. "Capt" had earlier levelled the match with a fine 15 darter. The other semi saw two Owls, with sharpened beaks at the ready. The result was in Nickos's favour with a 2-1 over Dimitris (Rainbow), helped on the way with a 20,20, bull finish.

The best of 5 leg final saw Nickos go 2-0 up and then a "fightback" 68 out by W's Mikalis for a 2-1 scoreline only added that twinge of pressure that "veteran" Nickos handles so well. Final result 3-1 to the Nickos Owl.

"Not shaken,not stirred but mixed makes an enjoyable evening - and not a 007 finish in sight"

The mixed pairs K/O gave us 12 good pairs and some early evening shocks with W's Mikalis/Belinda and Owls Makis/Linda exiting in their first round games. Capt Bob/Penny were soon to follow.
In the semi finals, Owls Nickos and Owlettes Pam just overcame the duo of Alan n Brenda. The other semi saw Spiros (Owl) and Owlettes Dawn take out the Armourada duo of Gordon n Maggie.
Twas an all Owl final which went to the deciding 5th leg. With 91 left on the board Spiros took the single 17 and then gambled for a x17 , x20 only just missing. Nickos took advantage and final result 3-2 to Nickos n Pam.
