" Three W's Internett Bar crashes to "talon-ted" Night Owl "

The newly formed "Night Owl" team got off to a good start in last nights match, at Three W's, with the greek duo of Dimitris and Makis taking out Egg n Mandy 2-1.

Three W's quickly bounced back and Pauls win over Dimitris, in the singles, gave them a 3 game to 1 lead overall.
Not to be outdone, Night Owl dug in deep and took the next 4 games with Nickos, Night Owl and Rainbows Dimitris doing their bit. These Greeks play well dont yer know.

Alan n Mandy, Three W's took the scoreline to 4 games to 5 and then it was the turn of Night Owl's "Captain Bob" to beat Xrisanthos 2-1. Dimitris then put the icing on the Night Owl cake with a good 2-1 win over Doug. - scoreline 7 - 4 to the "Owl"

Three W's "Captain Paul" with the help of partner Chris to the game to 7-5 and, thanks to me not playing in the triples, The "W's" got a small revenge.
Final score - Night Owl 7 , Three W's 6.
A close game and legs won were - Night Owl 16 - Three W's 17.
But it's the games won that count. - ( Who made that rule up? )

It all makes a very interesting 3 way league and Three W's play Armourada next Tues.

Watch this space folks , if still awake , and up for it.

Cheers
Negg

Sound's like a bit of a nailbiter Neil !
Bet you could have heard a pin drop on the last arrow's ?
Little tip.......if the other side are on the last throw's sometime's a coughing fit help's !
Hope I don't burn !

TerryW

Negg,

How about some more photos of these darts matches? The click of the shutter, the flash of the light at the critical moment could have the same effect as Barry's suggested coughing fit.

A bit of wind could also help :-)

Hi all you dart lovers,

I've just come up with an idea for the summer season 2009.  As Neil is our resident darts player, I thought it would be a good idea if he could keep a score table somehow on the forum, to show the person with the highest score, and also the person with the highest out shot.  It would be good to get a photo of the people that are topping the table.  It would keep those of us at home up to date with all the latest scores, and who are the best dart players amongst us.  Hope you don't mind this Neil, but I know you need something to keep you occupied!!!  Neil - Bev has ordered me a special darts shirt which I intend to wear when I come out in September - so look out Neil!!

QuoteIt would keep those of us at home up to date with all the latest scores

but kev, the only place I am at home is in Arillas. Jen just put another layer on, it's c-o-l-d here right now. Just wish we were all in the Rainbow together. Bev could be sharing the Burberry with Jen and me...

Darts? great fun

I'll see what pics I can come up with.
As long as they don't break my concentration or interfere with my game .
( But, If I can break the concentration of others? - every little helps!

" ARILLAS ARMOUR (ADA) TOO TOUGH FOR STEPHANOS ARROWS "

Armourada produced a fine 9 games to 4 win over Three W's last night in a match that they needed to win well to stay in contention, as possible league winners.
With the scoreline reading 5-4 to them , partway through, Three W's then felt the pressure, or the Ouzo, and lost the next 4 games.

Derek, Armourada, mainatined his good singles form with wins over Negg and Xrisanthos. He now leads the singles win table with a strike rate of 80% and most 100 plus scores hit in all games.  Last night he just missed a 164 out.

Armourada play Night Owl. next week, at home and, should they win 9-4 again , will make the rest of the season very interesting indeed.

Captain Bob, at Night Owl, may either be rubbing his hands together in anticipation or getting a headache deciding which players he should play where and in what order.
( And he thought he'd get a quiet life living in Corfu ! )
A good singles game may be him against Derek as Bob is 2nd in the singles table with a 75% strike.

That's it folks. - You can all wake up now. - Good bit of fun! - eh?

Cheers

Eggy, James is getting better too - he's getting loads of 180s at the moment so you'll be in for more of a thrashing in September (if you can stand it!!).

Also, nothing to do with darts, but something to do with James so some people on here might be pleased to hear that he was selected to play pool for West Yorkshire County on Sunday.  There were only 6 places available so he's done really well.  Fingers crossed one day you'll see him on TV playing for England.

Don't mean to sound like I'm bragging but I'm really proud of him.

So you should be proud of him Cheryl.

I think we'll have some very good games this summer ( Darts )
And...... he can always thrash me at pool.in exchange
( My excuse being I'm a bit colour blind )

Cheryl, we're so glad for him. What a great achievement. No wonder you're proud! Add our best wishes to the long list he doubtless already has.

This darting on the forum is getting serious so I decided to get some training.

Now this is serious stuff :-)

You don't just stand on a line and throw at a board , same as you don't just hit a ball with a club in golf --- we know that golf has sport coaches and so it is now in darts , there are so many similarities ---- you learn the grip , targeting , the throw or swing , the release or strike and the follow through . You put all this together in reaching your target in the way that is best for you and meanwhile you practice and practice until you develop your skills and master your sport.

Look out Negg I am on my way !!!!!

ps. Crucial game on Tuesday when Amourada play Night Owl. They're all up for it and I've been practicing today with players from both teams!

What we need now is a diary of who's here when, this summer, so we can make a few team games up. Best of Arillas vs ,,,,,, ?
( C'mon Terry put computer head on lad ! )
