Long posts

I might as well get this out of my system. It probably only applies to me, the "Ole Git."

The post window works fine with short posts, but if like me you are a blatherskite (thanks for explaining what that means Eileen luvver) you get nearly to the end of your post, and when you press a key the whole lot disappears, and none of the key presses or mouse clicks work as they should. I am sure it is designed to prevent windbags like me from writing long posts, but it fails.

I write mine in Notepad, and copy/paste it in.

Phil

Has anyone been calling you names? - Tell me and I'll get 'em in the Punto!

Mind you, I think I was called the same yesterday, in Rainbow.
I was explaining the physics of different flights linked with long n short stems and matched with various weighted darts, to a tourist.........
He didn't actually say it but I suddenly knew what he was thinking.
Felt a bit like "Foggy" in "Last of the Summer Wine"

Anyway, you 'ole windbag you - Keep up the good work.
( You're on 3007 now, )
Cheers
Negg

No it's not just you Phil.  I have had the same happen to me when I have been waxing lyrical on a favourite topic!

It's much better to copy and paste at least it's there for another try anyway.

What's all this about windbags and blatherskites?  Hey have you heard the expression "the lights are on but no one's home" ?  Well it must be said that the term could never be applied to either of you. These young 'uns what do they know anyway?

Cheers Nan xx

Phil, I have the same problem and I think it's why I lost my recent holiday report....I know I ramble on. Trouble is I don't understand all this Notepad business either....I've often seen you say you save your posts and have never known how you do it. Perhaps I'll find out when I get to 3000.......  :wink:

Sandy luvver, it is software designed to stop one posting at length, like us ramblers always do!

When you get to that line, you press Enter but get a space character instead of a new line. Then every next letter you type your whole post goes up and down, but you can't watch what you type. As forum anorak, blatherskite and now Ole Git (thanks Eggy) I suffer a great deal from it.

It is just like British Customs and Excise putting an illegal limit on tobacco imports, tax paid from the EU. How many fags can Jen and me smoke? A lot. Ask Anna!!

The java code goes like this:

class LongPost{
private int numberoflines =0;

public pissoffPhil{
  int justphil, pissoff;

if(numberoflines > 10){

     pissoff = justphil;
     super.Dimitris.laugh = true;
     justphil.open(notepad)
     post.anyway = true;
    }
}

Wouldn't compile but my little program says what I want it to. Arillas java programers improve it....

This one is too long as well. Can't you turn this setting off Dimitris?
lol Phil

Phil

I have just re-classified you from "Ole Git" to "Young Bugger"

I have applied to the Corfu Town Tax Office to get you title changed on the basis that we all enjoy the enthuiasm linked with good information plus friendly banter and humour in your "megaposts".
( Not to mention your knowlegde of Arillas which is more than mine - & we live here! )

So, you young bugger you, do you wanna sell your anorak?

Cheers Matey

lol lol lol.

Eggy, since I changed my title yesteday, Jen has had my anorak on eBay. The latest bid is 50p but I reckon I'm worth at least 75p....

I can't claim to be young in any form whatsoever, bugger or not. So I'm sticking with Ole Git. The Arillas Ole Git. It works for me. Dimitris crowned me as forum Anorak, and you have crowned me as the Ole Git. Will never let you forget it.....

Just can't wait to come and abuse you for real in July. John and Dot will be there to support me....

Arillas Ole Git
(or was that Phil??)

Poor ole Eggy. You're soon going to need the RSPE (Royal Society for the Protection of Eggys.) With John and Dot on your case, you'd better get your expenses claims in order (unlike most of the Somerset MPs.)  Retaining walls and horse manure are no longer allowed apparently.....

lmao
