Stupid question we know, but what currency do we need to get? It is going to be our first holiday in Corfu, at the Hotel Marvel. Have we picked a good hotel??

Hi Claire & Tom,

You will need to buy Euros', the exchange rate is about 1.40 to the £..

As for the Marvel, i can't say as i've never been there, but check the accommodation review...

I hope you enjoy yourselves as it really is a brill' resort....
DID i SAY RELAXING......

Look at "Exchange Rates" on "General Chat" then take Sterling in cash or Travellers Cheques. If you can get commision free Travellers Cheques then take those. The rate is always better over there and gives you  approx an extra £5 on every £100 you spend. Not a lot but probably gets you an free meal one evening.

Hi Claire & Tom
We do the same as Eggy as the exchange rate is always a bit better out there in Arillas, I wouldn't change my travellers cheques in the bigger tourist areas though, obviously take a few euros as well just in case you want to get a taxi from the airport ?
as for the hotel marvel I've heard its very good as they have added a brand new pool to the front of it and like all people in Arillas they are all nice, also you have a mini market next door and Dimitris's Taverna is just down on right.(thats who runs this forum).
When are you going?

Hi Claire and Tom

I think you have made an excellent choice with regard to your hotel.  It is only small - 15 rooms - and run by two brothers Spiros and Costas who are fantastic.

We arrived there by "accident" last September, having booked a last minute holiday (it was known as Hotel Marvellous then!).  As soon as we got home we booked for two weeks in May/June 2005 and also a further week in August which I just can't wait for :D  :D  Everyone who stays there seems to love it and most people return again and again.  We have friends we met there who have been going for over 20 years  8)

There is a beautiful swimming pool and even a tennis court if you are feeling energetic.  It is about a 5/7 minute walk to the beach and the shops and tavernas on the sea front.

Don't hesitate to ask if you want to know any more and have a wonderful time.

We are flying out on the 26th August and are staying for two weeks. Thanks for your replies as it has made us relax a lot more! Looking forward to checking out the pool, we might miss the tennis court, accidentally of course

Hi All
I was checking the exchange today Monday as I was ordering some travellers cheques and it was 1:41 @ the Post Office.
Better to exchange out there.
