Apparently parts of Greece have no unleaded petrol because of tanker drivers being on strike. Rhodes has none at all.
You may find this link useful.

Thanks for that, Alan. I think we must all grit our teeth and think positively.

It wasn't all bad news on the website because I found this as I scrolled down the page

"*Note that strikes rarely 'paralyze' or 'cripple' Greece, as described in international media. Most residents continue lives unimpeded and help travelers find solutions and alternatives."

The link to the Twitter page on Alans link has some useful news about future strikes and is well worth keeping an eye on - http://twitter.com/livingingreece

Petrol seemed to be plentiful three weeks ago, lots of hire cars were about and locals were able to get down to take part in village and tourist life  (saw Neil quite a few times).

There was no issue when we left on Monday 26th. Wasn't even being mentioned and let's hope it continues that way. Loved Terry's post -

We bought petrol yesterday at Kavvadades. Today when we passed, the price boards were not up, but I don't know why.....

There is some sort of "strike" and we were warned by our neighbour to "fill up" 2 days ago.

I think it is something to do with the Tanker drivers. Quite a few petrol stations are now down to deisel and many others are closed.
(Our Kavaddades garage yesterday only had 1000 ltrs of unleaded left in the morning)

Strange thing is that were no "LONG" queues anywhere and panic buying which you would see in the UK. We just take it all in our stride here.
""" Hey - No petrol ? - Look at the money I'm saving - Can always get a lift with a neighbour, if necessary! """

Or perhaps a three legged donkey

I've heard from a friend on Rhodes that petrol supplies are now getting to the petrol stations but with limits to each customer.

Wewent to Corfu Town today, and all the garages were open. The traffic was light tho. However, the stock in Lidl was minimal to say the least!!

I understood from the BBC news that it's a lorry drivers strike, ie not confined to tanker drivers. This was at 4:45 this morning though so I may have mis-heard!

Oh dear, its not looking too good. This was on the late BBC news tonight

The comments from people on holiday in Greece do not make happy reading.

I am a bit worried now for 30th August.

Terry, it looks bleak. Like our miners' strikes. The damage to tourism is incalculable. It will take years to repair, if it can ever be repaired.

Jen and me have our fingers crossed for all of you yet to go home. We both really hope it works out and you all get a peaceful, easy time like we did.

just great! Mick and I are sooo looking forward to this year's holiday and it would be just typical if this pervented us from getting there.  That said, I have had just had an email from Vasilis at Arkokl Travel and he didn't mention and problem with a taxi/minibus so I am staying positive!
