Hi mknagg,

The weather is still warm but it's cooler at night.
You might get the odd thunder shower as well.
As for being quiet? it depends where you stay!
A lot of places will be closed or closing as it is very
near the end of the season. But i wouldn't go any
 where else...

 Hope this will help

Hi MkNagg
We generally get out there at the end of September to about 10th Oct. Like Malky says, the weather is "Touch'n Go"  Expect a few showers and maybe a possible thunderstorm, or two if you're unlucky. Evenings are cooler but I cannot remember ever being sat in a Taverna with the 'ole teech chattering ( Not like a few nights in June ! )
Generally we have been lucky. I'm not sure about how quiet it is at the end of October but, although quieter, it's certainly not a "Ghost Town" the first two.
Regards
Negg

Hello everybody - our first time on this forum!

We are visiting Arillas in October for the first time and really looking forward to it.
We usually go to Zante but it has become so commercialised.
Arillas looks lovely!

Is the beach all sand and shallow, or is it pebbles?

Had a horrible experience last year in Kos - beach looked wonderful but once you got in the water it was all rocks with some sort of sea urchin, completely spoiled the holiday nursing grazed feet and shins!

We're not too bothered about the weather - anything is better than the north west of Scotland!!!

Hi Bob and joyce,

Welcome to the site and forum, when are you going out in October and where are staying? We are going out on the 17th for a week.
I'm coming up to Torridion in August for a week as well, where about are up the north west?

You will love Arillas, as it is nice and friendly, so go enjoy yourselves.

Yes, we have also been in Arillas in October and have had rain, storms and lovely sunshine, all in equal measure, but managed the beach most days, of course the evenings are darker earlier and cool, but you just eat inside if necessary (which I quite like).  We did start booking earlier to be more sure of more sun, but then, if there wasn't the rain Corfu would not be so green, lush and attractive.  Whatever the weather the warmth and friendliness of the lovely people of Arillas is no different whenever you visit.

Thank you for the welcome
We live in Kyle on the mainland end of the bridge to Skye - you will probably know the area Malky?

We are staying in the Horizon for only a week (boo hoo) because it is on the beach and as we west coast people HAVE to have the sea on our doorstep or we panic!!

If Arillas is half as good as it sounds, next time will be for 2 weeks!  We are going out on 10th October from Glasgow.

You will be able to spot Bob and I - we will be the pale white ones looking lost and bewildered!

Hi, No Zante is the smaller one but it is much more layed back security wise then corfu. We have been to Zante several times and it never seems as crowed or caotic as Corfu because you are stopped more often at Corfu then Manchester, but I guess it's because they do there jobs right. What date do you arrive and what time not being to nosey I hope just wondering about taxi sharing. We arrive on the 3rd at 14.25. Fingers Crossed, flying from Manchester so if anybody wants to share let us know. Viv & Pete.

Hi Viv
we arrive on the 10th (flying from Glasgow) think we are due in around 11-ish but we have been in touch with Horizon (thanks to Dimitris) and asked them to arrange a taxi.
anybody else touching down and heading same direction, we will be happy to share a taxi - just yell!
hope there is somebody at the airport waving a card with our name on it!

Hi, I think about 2 weeks before our holidays we should all post the date and time we arrive under the heading Taxi Share, it would save a lot of us some money and about an hour's travel. Doe's anybody else reckon it's a good idea or not. Viv
