There have been several threads on the forum about the cost of taxis from the airport to Arillas so I thought I would post some up-to-date information.
We arrived at the airport at 4.30am last Saturday with no taxi booked, but fairly certain we were not going to travel on the Thomas Cook transfer as it can take up to 3 hours. A RadioCab pulled up outside departures and off-loaded his passengers. We asked if he could take us to Arillas. He immediately radioed to another driver who came from the north west of the island and who arrived in no more than 5 minutes to pick us up. When we got into the taxi he agreed he would charge 40 euros which we had negotiated with the other driver. For this fantastic service we gave him a 5 euro tip, total cost 45 euros and worth every cent to be in Arillas at 5.30 am
Our only mistake was that we forgot to inform the TC rep that we would not be on their transfer - although we did apologise personally in Arillas. It does help if they know so that they don't keep the coach waiting longer than necessary.
