Is the wine festival on 7 and 8th Sept this year or just the 8th?  On the front page of this forum it seems to indicate it is on a Friday and Saturday but mentions specifically the 8th and I got a Facebook invite today for the 8th only?

So looking forward to it - we depart on 7th from London Gatwick at 5.45 am!  Hope I can last through to the evening :-)

The wine festival was due to be on the 7th and 8th September .
Due to the recent death of Stavros ( Brother of Stamatis of the minimarket next to the bakery) the local cultural events council has decided to do it only fo one day and that is on the 8th September.
Initialy there was discussions for canceling totaly the festival on respect of the family but finaly we all compromised about the fact that many people had booked their holiday during  this week particulary for the wine festival.
The event starts at about 20:00  and there is going to be loads of free wine , Local folcrore dances, live music and the annual traditional preperation of our wine.

Very sorry to hear that Dimitris. Yes, you are right - we were originally planning to fly out the following Monday, 10th Sept with better flight times but when we saw the wine festival was on 7th and 8th we booked our flight for a ridiculous time - 5.45 am and check in 3.45 am - so we could join in :-)

Looking forward to seeing you next Friday - we'll arrive sometime lunchtime so will probably be up for lunch or evening meal that night - if we can stay awake!   Can't wait - so excited.

Still, at least it means we don't have to force ourselves to stay up partying/late on the 7th!!
