26th September Arillas Corfu

http://www.arillas.com/forum/index.php?action=gallery;sa=view;id=326

The day started with clouds and a few drops that were evaporated as they were falling.
The beach looks half-deserted despite that all the Tavernas were packed last night .
It's a "change over Monday"...However,  people did not take my advice that it was not going to rain today so they decided to take walks and rent cars or bikes to make the most of the day.
The water temperature is the warmest so far for that summer.
I must say , it has been a very good September.

The beach looks beautiful, thank you Dimitris.

Have a wonderful time everyone travelling today, and think of all of us who are not able to get there.

Goodness, doesn't the beach look big? So, so inviting. Goes without saying that I really wish I was there...
Aah well, hopefully this will happen in 2012 :-)
Happy 'change-over' day folks!

Thank you for the lovely photos! The beach looks beautiful, even better than it did in July, and I am looking forward to being there again soon (less than 10 days now) for some Arillas mental healing and body rest!  xx

Try to remember the kind of September
When life was slow and oh, so mellow.
Try to remember the kind of September
When grass was green and grain was yellow.
Try to remember the kind of September
When you were a tender and callow fellow.
Try to remember, and if you remember,
Then follow.
Follow.
....
Deep in December, it's nice to remember,
Although you know the snow will follow.
Deep in December, it's nice to remember,
Without a hurt the heart is hollow.
Deep in December, it's nice to remember,
The fire of September that made us mellow.
Deep in December, our hearts should remember
And follow.

Only one thing wrong with this September. Jen and me didn't spend it in Arillas. It looks magnificent. Thanks for the pics Dimitris.

Phil

Thank you, Phil, that's exactly right. We all need those moments when life is slow and, oh so  mellow. And we need to remember them when December comes, as it always does.
That's what arillas.com is all about, among other things.

I have to acknowledge that the words are from one of my favourite Nana Mouskouri songs, which we have just converted from vinyl to CD (ie bought the CD on eBay) and we will be playing it when we are "all alone in Arillas" in four weeks time. At least we won't have neighbours to consider..... And Nana's version was not the original either.

But the sentiments are ours. We married in September 1972, and our favourite September since then was 2008. We spent the whole month in Arillas. Jen and me don't have to try to remember. Thanks for your reply emeralddragons.

Phil

I think it was Harry Belafonte who made the September song a hit the world over, but Nana Mouskouri certainly sings it beautifully. For us, September is Arillas time.
