Hi Mick and Jill I may be wrong but I doubt a small village like Arillas would take the currency card although they do take visa and debit cards. If you are nervous about taking currency there are plenty of places in resort that will be happy to change for you. There is no ATM in Arillas unfortunately.

Has anybody used a pre loaded card and would we be able to withdraw euros from the ATM in town, without charges

I used a Travelex pre-loaded card last year and I will do the same this year. I had no problems at all and Helen also had a card which was a backup in case I lost mine.

Our earo's arrived safe & sound. Moneycorp do a pre loaded card that also has no charges at ATMs or on transactions. I dont know if the travel firms do the same or not. Viv

Thank you for the information Kevin.  Could someone let me know what the current local rate is please?

Only 26 days to go for us and we can't wait to be in lovely Arillas again!

Thank you to everyone for all the great advice, information and interesting stories on here.

Chris

FairFX at 1.21 euro to the pound today. Looks as if the pound is on a roll at the moment.

Just checked rates and at the moment FairFX is 1.20 and Travel FX is 1.2041 and with no commission and free registered delivery I think TravelFX is great and have used them for the last 3 years and (fingers crossed) up to now have been totally reliable with delivery on the dot.
