As far as I know the tortoises probably do hibernate in Corfu , but I think its temperature related and they only sleep if its getting cold at night , and then only for a couple of months ...
The two I took the picture of were on a romantic outing !
In June , up on the hill by our house ... As usual , he had a one track mind , and she had a headache !!!
Life goes on !

Just seen your lovely photos I have tortoise and in corfu there are marginated tortoise and they dont hibernate in their first year and then after that they hibernate for short periods .ie one week first year two next year and so on but if its very hot year they may not. I have marginated born in england and they are lovely friendly tortoise which I could highly recommend I have never yet seen them when I have been out on my walks plenty of terrapins .Lucky you .....
