Below freezing in Corfu
« on: January 15, 2012, 03:29:40 PM »
Hi,

Just noticed, that over the next days it's going to be below zero degrees in Corfu at night.
Didn't think it ever got that cold.

John, I didn't either. And I said on here that I would dance naked in the snow if I ever experienced it in Arillas. I may live to regret that one day....

But just think - there won't be any mozzies just now!!
Phil

Kevin

With 1 deg outside , at 10:30pm, I think the more hugs for me n Wegg the better.

Heating oil currently evaporating at the rate of 40 litres per week.
20 deg unside though and all 3 cats lapping it up.
Just about to kick em out and you know what they will say?

-6C last night, and had two pipes burst, but fortunately they were outside. i finally got spiros to come and have a look and he reckons it was -8C in some places. theres a lot of people with problems though as the area is just not prepared for this.

Hope better weather is on the way, and the cold temps will soon be gone.

Eggy you keep Weggy warm at all costs..... If she gets a chill you will have to cook your own dinner!

Must be some sort of record for Corfu and Arillas with temperatures that low! Hope it warms up again soon and no more damage, colder there than here in Wales!
One good thing, I bet a lot of mozzie larvae will have been killed off, lets hope there will be less flying adults this year!
All the best,
Martin.

It warmed up today... about 8C during the day and, I think, 3C last night. One solar panel needs replacing but all the other damage is fixed already.

we just had central heating put in at the start of December, so it's been a good test of how well it will work (it's good!).
