I'm not sure that Galini has actually been properly open the last few years. As far as I knowm they are no longer in the Thomas Cook/Manos brochure. Last year they never seemed to put water in the pool, and although there are occasional signs of life, it has never seemed busy.

I've never stayed there but I'm sure someone will have an email for them.

Hi Dave, when we were in Arillas in early June last year Galini were closed, but when we met you and Adrienne in July the pool had been filled but there was never anyone in it. We did see the lights on in the bar a few times at night, one night we saw two rooms with lights on....... but in two weeks didn't any guests, did you?
It looks like a nice place though.
Try putting it in the search box and see if there are any posts about it.

The love affair continues.

Galini were with Olympic for a short while in 2007
but they were a late edition to their website and did not appear in 2008. Have seen the odd visitor there over the last couple of years.
but has always looked empty.

Was a good place to stay previously as a number of members have mentioned on here.

Hello Val

Tried a search on this site but nowt came up

Have googled, but as you say the last bits of info are from 2-3 years ago.
Still, someone on here might know a bit more than us!!

When we were in Arillas last July I spoke to Kostas (think he is the owner) and in his very broken English and my non existent Greek I seemed to think he was implying that the Galini is opening for 2012.
I could be totally wrong about this though!

 Thanks Sandy and thanks John

Galini is  nearly opposite Elena Stella (Olga's home. We stayed there for a month in 2008.) At the quiet edge of the village, but truly not far from anywhere, and quiet if that is your bag.

It has never seemed to be very occupied but we have seen bodies in not-a-lot around the pool. It has a lovely pool. I think Blondegirl, who used to post a lot on here, had nothing but praise for it having stayed there. Try searching on that in Tell Us Your Story.

It would be like staying with family rather than anonymous in the midst of many. But suits many. Send me a PM and I will find out whatever I can.

Phil

Perhap forum member fenos can help you.  If I remember correctly he was a nephew who helped out with marketing the Galini...you will find out for sure if you check his profile and choose 'Show the last posts of this person.'

Fenos hasn't been online for a long while but perhaps his contact details are up to date.

Eileen.

Sally and I stayed in the Galini years ago,People are correct they are no longer with a UK tour company. The rooms were fine, comfy beds, friendly owners and they used to do a BBQ once a week.As we go may and October we have not seen them open for years though.

All I can say, is that when we were in Arillas last August it looked well and truly closed.

In all the years we have been visiting these lovely chilled-looking apts were only open fully years ago. Such a shame. Would be nice to see them open for business once more. I would imagine they would be independently advertised these days. Perhaps Eggy could use his secret agent alias to find out ;-)

We stayed at the galini a good few years ago during the world cup.We had a lovely time there, but as others have said it hasnt really been open since. Were we really that bad.lol.We saw Costa last year in aug but didnt ask if he would be opening again.Would certainly stay there again but only if properly open and not the only people staying there.mind you would be like a private villa.
